Zombie Driver HD Certainly Looks Sharp.

There's a timeless satisfaction to watching a shuffling corpse explode into a puddle of gore, and that's why Zombie Driver HD for the PlayStation Network looks so exciting.

Originally released for the PC, Zombie Driver HD is like the love-child of Grand Theft Auto II and Armageddon Riders. Locked inside a city under quarantine, you must use your driving skills to survive an outbreak of the shuffling undead and rescue any survivors remaining in the city.

"Zombie Driver HD features a more varied narrative campaign that is twice as long as the original, adding epic boss fights, demolition missions, new enemies and special vehicles such as a fire truck, bulldozer and even a tank, as well as many more gameplay enhancements," explained developer Pawel Lekki on the PlayStation Blog. " The gameplay mechanics have received a new round of polish by introducing an improved camera system, a recharging afterburner that will help you get out of tough spots and a minimap that will guide you through a labyrinth of zombie filled streets."

If you want to shun the storyline for some more straightforward undead demolition, Zombie Driver HD also boasts a Blood Race mode which spans Race, Eliminator and Endurance events.

"In Race events the objective is simple – the first zombie driver past the finish line wins," Lekki continued. "Eliminator events are even simpler to grasp – destroy as many opponents as you can before the time runs out. And last, but not least – Endurance events – there is a bomb on your car and its ticking – smash zombies, demolish the race track or pass through checkpoints to extend the timer. Not to mention that the entire Blood Race campaign includes 30 different events."

A final game mode known as Slaughter puts you in a "desperate fight against endless zombie waves on specially crafted arenas".

There's no release date for Zombie Driver HD just yet, but it looks pretty close to completion. We can't imagine it's too far off.
