Perhaps the biggest 'WTF?' moment of Sony's GamesCom press conference this evening was the announcement of a new PlayStation Portable model for Europe

The updated hardware will launch without Wi-Fi support, but will cost a mere €99.99. The new handheld is due out this Fall, and will be marketed heavily alongside Sony's budget PSP Essentials range.

SCEA's said there are no plans to launch the new handheld in North America.
