Get Your Head Around This: EA Now Owns PopCap Games.

"Damn," one EA employed businessman suddenly declared, "It's such a slow news day, we need to do something about it."

"Well we have always courted the idea of purchasing Plants Vs. Zombies developer, PopCap Games," came the response of a stern looking businesswoman, "Maybe we should get around to that."

"What's the asking price?" a third businessperson questioned.

"Oh, about $750 million. Pocket change really," responded the original businessman.

"I'll get on the phone," said the businesswoman.

And thus we have our mega headline and Tuesday is saved. No firm details on the acquisition yet, though EA has said that it's committed to bringing Plants Vs. Zombies, Bejeweled and Zuma to new platforms. Seeing as all three titles are already available on most platforms, we're not entirely sure what they've got planned.
