At Least Nariko's Cuter Than Kratos.

UK gaming magazine, PlayGamer, is hinting that Sony will announce a sequel to Heavenly Sword at this year's E3.

It's unlikely that original developers Ninja Theory will be at the helm, as they are currently busy working on a Devil May Cry reboot for Capcom. Our top bet for taking on the franchise is God Of War developer Sony Santa Monica. The game's rumoured to be set ten years after the first game and built upon an open-world sandbox structure. Erm, Sony Santa Monica's been looking for staff with open-world experience.

Apparently missions will be replayable in an interactive environment, and you will have to earn the famous sword by mastering a number of combat disciplines. Apparently you'll start out with basic hand-to-hand combat before moving into more intense brawls.

More information is expected to be announced at this year's E3. We're still not entirely convinced we buy the rumour, but stranger things have happened. Heavenly Sword got a big push from Sony during the PlayStation 3's early days, and went on to be a big seller despite Ninja Theory's frequent moaning to the contrary.

Would you be interested in a Heavenly Sword sequel?
