SOCOM 4 To Ship With Download Code For Additional Multiplayer Content

Those intending to purchase used copies of SOCOM 4 will find themselves locked out of multiplayer content, as Sony has announced that new copies of the game in the US will ship with a SOCOM Pro downloadable code

New Copies Of SOCOM 4 Will Include Free Access To SOCOM Pro.

The code will primarily earn players access to Pro Custom Game queues.

"Not only will these queues be ranked, but they'll also be updated regularly over the entire lifespan of SOCOM 4 so it'll be the gift that keeps on giving for quite some time," said community manager Jeremy Dunham.

"Moreover, the first set of Pro Custom Game types will be the same fantastic rule sets that our diligent fans tested during our SOCOM 4 beta period."

The code will also earn you access to two exclusive weapons: the AK-47 and M-16, with more content on the way.

"These additions are just the beginning we have plenty more planned for SOCOM Pro down the road including access to exclusive multiplayer maps, various co-op additions, dedicated leaderboards, and lots more," added Dunham.

Those that buy a used copy of SOCOM 4 will be able to purchase access to SOCOM Pro for $14.99. It will be available one week after the game's US launch.

Sony hasn't confirmed whether SOCOM Pro will be made available in Europe, but we're going to assume that's a safe bet.
