There's More Than A Sniff Of 'Monster Hunter' To The Artwork In Dragon's Dogma.

The publisher bills the game as a "a unique action experience that blends exciting and fulfilling combat with the freedom to explore and interact in a rich, living and breathing world," which certainly has our ears pricked and set to alert. What's more, Capcom claims said world will be totally open for you to explore. Playing as a party of three, your task will be to "track down and destroy a mysterious dragon," but there'll be plenty of other critters to slay along the way.

While a new IP, Capcom's trying to get everyone excited by revealing some of the names behind the title. This is a big new venture from the publisher, with known faces from Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4 on development duties. The game's being built on an enhanced version of Capcom's fantastic MT Framework engine, and is due on PlayStation 3 sometime in "early 2012".
