Battlefield 3 Confirmed, Releases This "Fall", 'Net Goes Gaga

Watch out Call Of Duty -- EA and DICE have slapped a "fall" release date on the hotly anticipated Battlefield 3 overnight

Battlefield 3's Surely Poised To Set Up The Ultimate Shooter Showdown This Fall.

The game was revealed as GameInformer's cover during the early hours of this morning, and has since been followed by a teaser trailer which you can catch after the jump.

While much of the early information is concerned with the PC version of the game (it'll feature 64-player battles there), we can confirm that Battlefield 3 is launching day-and-date on PlayStation 3. More information is set to be revealed on March 1st during EA Partners' GDC presentation.

Apparently Battlefield 3 will be the first game to use DICE's new Frostbite 2.0 engine. A beta is tipped for October 2011 as part of the game's cross-promotion with Medal Of Honor. That's all we really know for now. Catch the trailer after the jump.
