Kraaaa-tos. Kraaaa-tos. Sha-la. Sha-la-lalala.

With Sony's leading anti-hero set to make an appearance in NetherRealm's upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot, director Ed Boon's reassured fans that the studio's pulling out all the stops to ensure the character's trademark "feel" is in tact in the beat 'em up.

Speaking in the latest issue of GamesMaster magazine, Boon said that the character was picked because his "look and fight-style are very compatible to the Mortal Kombat universe". True.

“Everyone is really excited about this opportunity, and it’s been great working with the God of War team in making this happen,” said Boon.

“With any great IP, there are guidelines that must be followed. We’re working really closely with the God of War team to ensure that Kratos looks and feels the way gamers expect him to. We have nothing but respect for the God of War development team, and our goal is to stay true to their creation."

Boon furthered that Kratos will be a supremely powerful character, with his attacks issuing plenty of damage.

“After all, he is the God of War,” added the developer.

At this point we're curious about Kratos' fatalities. Will the trademark Poseidon eye-pop be in place? Or perhaps the famous Helios head-rip? When all's said and done, this is a cameo we are ridiculously excited about. With so much potential it's great to see NetherRealm treating the additional character with respect.
