VUDU's Bringing More On-Demand Movies To The PlayStation 3.

.. Or something. SCEA's announced that the on-demand movie service VUDU is set to join Netflix, HULU Plus and Sony's own PlayStation Video Delivery Service on the XMB. The service will launch on November 23rd in North America.

VUDU offers over "4,000 HD movies" making it the "world's largest HD library". The subscription-free service provides members access to on-demand rentals and purchases, in SD or the more expensive "HDX" format — which is 1080p HD Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound.

To encourage newcomers to test out the service, VUDU's offering $5.99 of free credit to those who subscribe to the service. That's a free movie, so it's worth giving the application a shot.
