Douse Our Metal Gear Solid: Rising Excitement If It's Still Some Way Off. We'll Have To Be Patient.

Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Kotaku reports that the game's been pushed back into 2012.

The multiplatform title replaces Metal Gear Solid's traditional "Tactical Espionage Action" for a new breed of "Lightning Bolt Action" fronted by the game's protagonist, Raiden. The hook is the game's "precision slicing" mechanic, which is looking more and more like a perfect fit for the PlayStation Move.

We'd rather not think about 2012 right now though. There's a long time to go. Knowing Kojima Productions' track-record, the wait will result in several layers of polish. It'll totally be worth it.
