This could be you, in a virtual sense

Fishing is a dangerous business, no matter what glossy, colourful spin you put on it. Few know more about that than Sig Hansen, a former captain on TV series Deadliest Catch, due to receive its own Move-enabled game in the form of Deadliest Catch: Sea of Chaos in November this year.

In an interview conducted whilst Hansen was still involved in the programme, he discusses how realistic the game is compared to its rough and tumble inspiration.

The game allows you to pick your crew and offers stats on each crew member. Is that what it’s like for you as a captain deciding who will sail with you?

You've done your homework, haven't you? Yeah, in real life, your crew is everything. Without a good crew, you're done. Just takes one bad apple, and you are done. So, it's important, and you bring that in the game, great. You bring strategy to the game, great. Add a couple of waves and wind and see if you can find the crab, and the fact that people appreciate the show for what it is and our work ethic behind it, it says volumes. And so now a guy can actually do this on his couch--not freezing!

That's certainly one advantage of playing the game at home as opposed to out on the high seas. As well as full support for Move controls, the game will also offer online play for taking on rival crews – the first time that's ever been said about a game that's not a sandbox-style crime game.
