The PlayStation Network Raked In A Substantial Amount Of Cash For August.

According to the digital entertainment analysis group, Sony's online network netted a cool $5.7 million during August - with sales lead by Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

According to the group, PSN sales were up 20 percent over July. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World fuelled the charge, shifting over 100k copies; while Castle Crashers, Zen Pinball, Joe Danger and Shank rounded out the top five.

“Playstation Network proved strong in August, especially for marquee title Scott Pilgrim,” said Benjamin Schlichter, director of research and analysis at FADE.

“This title was one of the few instances where a game based on a movie was better received than the movie itself.”

We liked Scott Pilgrim a fair amount. With online co-op, we actually think it could have shifted a few thousand more copies. But we doubt anyone at Sony or Ubisoft is complaining.
