Sports Champions Managed To Debut In The Second Spot On The UK All Formats Charts.

We knew we were due a weekly UK sales report from Chart-Track this morning, and we were mulling over what would be a decent showing from the PlayStation Move's first must-have title, Sports Champions.

We've always expected Move's launch window to be slow. Unlike Microsoft's Kinect, we anticipate the PlayStation Move will be a slow-burn thing. Even so, we expected Sports Champions to debut around the tenth place spot on the UK All Formats Chart.

The game's far and beyond exceeded our expectations however, debuting at number two. That's an outstanding achievement, and perhaps an early indication of how Move hardware is shifting too.

Other Move software failed to make quite the same splash; Start The Party debuted in the 29th spot and Ubisoft's Racket Sports climbed to 32nd. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, which received a Move update this week, saw sales increase by a whopping 41 per cent this week, however.

So, a solid start for Sony. Hopefully we get some hardware numbers soon.
