Hirai said that of the 38.1 million consoles sold, roughly 30.48 million systems are connected to the PlayStation Network, which is a pretty impressive attach-rate.

Hirai also claimed that hardware targets are on track, with the company aiming to shift 15 million consoles for the fiscal year.

Hirai was coy about bringing 3D technology to the PlayStation Portable, however. He told Reuters that Sony believe the best possible environment for 3D is on the "big screen with glasses".
