Get This Mortal Kombat Re-Release Announced, Already!

The Mortal Kombat: HD Arcade Kollection has been popping up on retailers for months, but we've still not heard a squeak of a confirmation out of NetherRealm nor Warner Bros.

Come on guys, get your act together - we all know it's happening. Especially now GameStop, arguably the biggest video game retailer in the world, has jumped aboard the hype train. According to the US-based retailer, the package will ship exclusively on the PlayStation 3 this November. GameStop's since pulled the page, providing further evidence that we'll be "getting over here" in HD before the year's out.

The PlayStation exclusivity sounds a bit unusual, but the chances are that this will fall under Sony's "Classics" banner. Not to mention Sony appear to be pushing the Mortal Kombat reboot hard with 3D support. Every so often there are third-party titles which Sony tend to partner with. Dead Space 2, Medal Of Honor and Assassin's Creed are all examples of that. Seems Mortal Kombat will be another one of those, and there's no better way to reinvigorate the fan-base than to bring Scorpion to the PS3 in HD.

Let's get it announced, then.
