Yup. MUBI's Bringing This Kinda Stuff To Playstation 3.

MUBI will allow you to stream movies outside of the mainstream arena, including content from Tarantino, the Coen brothers and Kubrick, aswell as international films. The message is "quality over quantity" — MUBI's aiming at a different demographic to the PS3's Video Delivery Service (already integrated into the Playstation Store).

“You’ll find undistributed festival gems ripe for your discovery, your favorite recent independent and art-house releases. Names like the Coen brothers, Godard, Kitano, Almodóvar, Tarantino, and Van Sant are some we’ll bring home to you,” the Playstation Blog notes. “Palm d’Or winners and simply films we think should have won awards. But that’s not all. We’ll bring you exclusive online premieres, collaborations with international film festivals, and retrospectives of some of the best cinema the world has ever seen.”

So basically it's all a bit pretentious. But it'll definitely appeal to aficionados looking to bring creative content into their living room. And that's what Playstation is all about: choice.

There's a trailer for the service after the jump. Consider our attention piqued. Eurogamer's claiming the service will launch in the Autumn with 300-500 movies available.
