A lot of people do though, and are giving mixed reaction to the announcement of a new game in the series coming from Bioshock 2's development house 2K Marin. The thing that's confusing most people? The new X-Com's not going to be a turn-based strategy game but a first-person shooter instead. Yeah.
What's interesting though, is that there's no mention of a Playstation 3 version of the game just yet. Which is a bit bizarre. It's strange for a third-party developer not to release on all platforms at the moment, and thus we can only assume Microsoft's stumped up cash for this game. Which is a bit weird because, a) do they really need another XBOX 360 shooter? b) does the X-Com name still carry any weight? and; c) if the X-Com name does still carry weight does it do so as a first-person shooter?
Oh Microsoft.
