The news comes shortly after Modern Warfare 2 was announced as the biggest game of the year by ELSPA, raking in sales of £67million in just one week. The game's now pulled in over $1billion.
Sitting next to Modern Warfare 2 in the Playstation 3's overall 2009 sales charts was Fifa 10, Assassin's Creed II, Killzone 2, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
Fifa 10 was a big winner on the PSP too, taking top spot ahead of its predecessor Fifa 09. Gran Turismo, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and LittleBigPlanet closed out the chart.
