Capcom Kinda Ditch The Wii, Claim "The Future Is Playstation & XBOX 360"

Capcom France's head-honcho - Antoine Seux - has declared a cull on the Wii after his company's light-gun shooter, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, did kinda rubbish at retail

The game only mustered 16,000 units in the three weeks since its launch back in November.

“This is the year of the emergence of so-called ‘new console generation’,” said Seux.

“The Wii is still an important part of sales, but growth is on both [Sony and Microsoft's] platforms. The Wii console is very much a family commitment… for us, Capcom, the future is the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.”</blockquote>

The news actually follows SEGA's backhanded comments that they'll no longer support mature games on the Wii.

What does any of this have to do with Playstation? Well, we can safely assume that Capcom (and SEGA) will be putting more resources into the PS3 in the future.
