The Playstation 3 Sales Dropped Again In Japan, But Are Still Very Respectable.

This week sees the Slim settle just below the 40,000 mark, still a reasonable number for Sony given a slow software week and previous performances. Sony will want to see the Slim even out at some point, perhaps around the 25,000 to 30,000 weekly sales point. This would roughly be a 150% improvement on the PS3's previous average of around 10,000 weekly sales. The PSP sat beneath the PS3 with over 17,000 sales, while the PS2 continued its tussle with the XBOX 360 at the bottom of the charts, managing just over 2,000 sales.

  • Nintendo DSi - 63,342
  • PlayStation 3 - 39,960
  • PSP - 17,334
  • Nintendo DS Lite - 15,057
  • Wii - 11,731
  • Xbox 360 - 4,854
  • PlayStation 2 - 2,347

The Nintendo DSi continues to dominate on a weekly basis, however the outlook isn't so hot for Nintendo's other system, the Wii, right now.
