The Playstation 3 Slipped To The Bottom Of The Japanese Retail Charts Ahead Of The Slim.

Japanese sales of the PS3 for the week before the Slim's Eastern launch slumped to a terrible 1,040 units. That's a mere 10% of what the console usually pushes. Of course, Sony will be expecting massive sales in Japan for the week following its release, and given the stumbling hardware elsewhere, we'd assume that they might just topple the mighty Nintendo DSi. Might.

  • Nintendo DSi - 59,881
  • PSP - 26,081
  • Wii - 25,038
  • Nintendo DS Lite - 7,304
  • Xbox 360 - 7,254
  • PlayStation 2 - 3,179
  • PlayStation 3 - 1,040

Dark reading for Playstation owners. Until the inevitable sales surge next week.
