While Things Are Improving, The Playstation 3 Hardware Refuses To Become Profitable For Sony.

But things are slowly starting to improve. Sony CFO Nobuyuki Oneda noted recently that the PS3's cost is still 10 percent higher than the system's price meaning about $40 are lost per system sold.

Things used to be a lot worse, with the system losing around $100 per sale, so progress is definitely being made. Of course, a price-cut of any kind could literally off-set that once again.

Ah well. Keep chugging on Sony.
