Oh perfect, because I'll be using this one a LOT. For starters, which of these games do you think I should buy first? They are Lollipop Chainsaw, Far Cry 3, Hitman: Absolution, Borderlands 2, and Catherine. I want to buy all of them eventually obviously, but my wallet isn't in the greatest shape right now. Also, length isn't as big of an issue to me since I have so many other games to play and so little time.

Get Catherine so you can come back and tell me if I should get it or not.

Catherine has one of the most unique and mature stories I've experienced in a game. It was amazing and refreshing. That said, the gameplay is extremely hit/miss with a lot of people. The puzzles get brutal late in the game, like smash your controller frustrating. If you are not into puzzles I would stay far away from this game.

@Jaz007: I already have all of those games, but thanks for recommendations. @KALofKRYPTON: I heard a lot of mixed things about that game. Is it really as meh as the critics make it out to be, or is it one of those games that got needlessly bashed? @Splat and JayArr: I might try the demo first, but the gameplay looks pretty wicked to be honest. .

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it as a game. Unfortunately it came along a year after Uncharted 2 I think and as a third person action game it's just not in the same league as Drake. But I've come to the conclusion that the Uncharted games are exceptional, so it's much of a fair comparison. But, if you have even the slightest fondness of the idea of a flying man, (I'm a massive Superman fan, and more on point, also a massive Rocketeer fan) this is the best gaming has to offer. Honestly, the flight mechanics are fantastic. It's a nice looking game, nothing ground breaking but certainly good enough, the score (by Bear McCreary no less) is also a very high point. The combat and shooting actually aren't that removed from Uncharted, but just aren't quite as tight, again though- once you get the full flight rocket pack it really doesn't matter- it's a great experience, never feels like a grind and the story is half decent. I think the critical reviews are overly harsh, though I tend to find that in general. Some reviewers (IGN/Gamespot especially) can't seem to make up their minds on what makes a good game. Cleary happy to take the cash for promoting a game right up to release then bashing it as if it kicked their dog! I'll never really get over the injustice of what happened to Lair at the hands of reviewers.

Far Cry 3 is awesome (my favourite of 2012). its a stunningly beautiful open world, RPG, shooter with a killer story. But obviously a very different game to Catherine and Lollipop etc. The main story would only last 20+ hours or so, but depending on how much of the other open world content you get into, there is a risk of sinking many hours into this puppy. I know I am.

@KALofKRYPTON: Well, comparing Dark Void to Uncharted is unreasonable in the first place since the series is pretty much in a league of it's own. And yeah, I don't really rely on what the critics say when it comes to reviews. Push Square, Nintendo Life, and Destructoid are the only sites that I take even remotely seriously when it comes to reviews. I just wanted to make sure if the game was needlessly bashed like I thought it was, or if it legitimately deserved it. Looks like I was correct about the former. If I see this game in a store for cheap, then I'll certainly pick it up. @Jaz007: Four dollars!? Where in the hell did you see Dark Void for that price!?
