I never really got the chance to play the first before I'd upgraded to PS4 and I didn't feel like going back to do so. Shame as I heard brilliant things. Maybe this'll come to PS4 someday.
I've got the first installed on my PS3, but never played it either. I'm surprised they've gone full PC on this one - I was always under the assumption the console versions did well.
According to the numbers it sold about 1 million between 360 and PS3, while Steam sold more than 3 millions and counting (the release of mod support and long war made that game sky rocket on steam)
The reboot of this was fantastic and I'm so glad it's getting a sequel. Firaxis seriously care about this series. I might have to get a decent gaming PC again if this doesn't come to consoles as I'm sure it'll also be fantastic.
The numbers sold on steam can be misleading because the price varies so much on games with flash sales. It would be interesting to know how many people buy it at full price. This is where the console market suffers a million sales is not bad the prbolem is that a lot more people played it on the 2nd hand market which did not create any revenue. Which has then effected the decision not to make a sequel on PS4.
I really wish my computer could handle XCOM 2, I love the first one and 2 looks even better. I watched Totalbiscuit's WTF is... for 2 and it looks gorgeous and the gameplay tweaks look great. Too bad the game my PC is a bit sluggish.
19 week's and i'll be able to play it!! I'm seriously considering not buying The Division and putting the money into my PC fund that would reduce it to 17 week's
