Topic: Would you ever buy an xboxone just for an exclusive?

My situation exactly, I loved Halo, and before the PS4 I had an X360. The two X-clusives (see what I done there) that will make me buy a X1 will always be Halo and Forza - surprisingly I don't much like racing games, but I played the hell out of any and every Forza. Maybe Left for Dead as well and I'm still mad about the Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusivity deal, timed or not. Damn thing has been around for 20+ years. It's pretty much mankind property at this stage.

Forza, Halo, Scalebound (possibly), Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Sunset Overdrive are the only reasons I own an Xbox One. It's not even hooked up right now though as I have a boat load of games to play on the PS4 atm and that's where my friends are at. (Well, the only two friends who have a PS4 so far anyway.)

Like I said I have never bought a console purely for a single exclusive. I may have been more interested in certain exclusives but the consoles are bought for a number of reasons. Obviously the access to ALL exclusives is one of them but then you also have access to all 3rd Party deals and exclusives too (like CoD on Xbox, Destiny on PS etc). Owning both means I can take advantage of any exclusive deals as well as play any exclusive content. Sometimes you also see certain games cheaper on one system too. I think if I picked just one console, I would miss the other's exclusives - and I include the 3rd party deals in that too. Both systems have deals with 3rd Party games I want so owning both just dictates which game I buy on which platform. I know it is disappointing when you see the other console getting exclusive content/extras but having both means I can get that extra content. It may determine which console version I buy but at least I have the choice.

I bought my 3DS just to play Super Mario 3D Land, so I suppose it's possible. But typically I need at least a handful of games to justify buying a console.

That's what I'm rolling with this generation, and into the future.

Home Console = Sony
Portable Console = Nintendo

That's it, I've bought a PSP and Vita and had buyers remorse both times, I had a Wii and Wii U, and despite some stellar gems, 75 percent of the time both collected dust. I haven't been let down by a Nintendo handheld yet and so far the flow of games to the PS4 has been stellar.

Don't think so... with ps4, WiiU, 3ds and Vita I have already more platforms than time to play on them

No but for 200 and forza 6, with backwards compatibility i definitely will.

Replace Forza with Neverwinter for me and that's my answer.

I already did and after watching the Microsoft E3 press event I don't regret that decision it the slightest.

No because everything on PC would be better no matter how you slice it. Today right now, you could play an PSX game and use modes that makes it look better then most Dreamcast games.

Microsoft is PC no matter how you look at it. For children maybe I would get the X-bone. Otherwise as an adult I blindly look the other way.

I have always had all three (Nintendo, Sony, MS). All had exclusives I just wanted to play. Simple as that.
Of the latest gen consoles, first up was WiiU....but really had a big been there, done that feel with that console.
Sold it a few months later. Still feel no need to buy one again.

That made me look at my small collection of games. I sell all of them when I am done, except the ones that I really love and feel like replaying many times every once in a while for years to come. That list is pretty damn small;
Mass Effect
Halo
Uncharted
Ratchet & Clank
Dragon Age
Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy 7 + 8
Plus the fact that the Playstation was the place to be for most JRPGs, and more other genres made my choice for PS4 easy.
Thankfully most of my friends also bought a PS4 after the MS debacle at their reveal.

Halo was my only weakspot.....I'd buy an Xbone for a GOOD Halo.
But after Halo 4, I realized the Halo I loved was dead. It died when Bungie moved on.
Looking at the footage of H5, looks unlikely I'll be buying an Xbone.
(never say never though; keeping my eye on that game just in case)

So unless Mass Effect goes Xbone exclusive, no Xbone for me I guess.

@BlaBlaBla: Halo 5 looks nothing like Halo of old. Its getting goodish scores but I don't buy them at all. The eurogamer review looks like an infomercial its so biased and pro micro transactions, I'm lost for words. It ended with a recommended and read like the reviewer worked for ms. Terrible review.

On the up side for people who want an xbox - every 360 gwg game from now on will be backwards compatible with x1. Neat.

I get this from my friends about the 3DS, and why I won't buy it for Fire emblem. I absolutely love the series, and I find it to be the only Nintendo exclusive I miss when I'm playing my Vita. With that said, I won't buy a console of any kind, for one game. It isn't an economic decision I take lightly and I am not the type to be fine with consoles going to waste. I like playing my N64, my Gamecube, my PS1/2/3 on the off occasion when I don't use my Vita, or PS4.

So my answer to the question is no, I wouldn't buy an Xbox one for a single exclusive. I think that the Xbox has some great titles, and I'm sure a ton of people enjoy them and prefer them over any other console. But to me, there is not enough reason for me to purchase one. Also, I hate their controller layout. I'm the vast minority but it has always irked me and I am not ready to change my preference on that topic.

well i already have a XB1 but i didn't buy it my brother did for me as a xmas present last year

but honestly no i wouldn't because the exclusives they have just don't appeal to me, well apart form Halo and Forza and the recent entries in those series have been very disappointing anyway

Nope. Too many good games are coming out for the ps4.

Maybe eventually when I can get it and the one or two games I'd want for about £70 or something. That pirate game by Rare seems like it could be really good. I couldn't be less interested in Halo or GoW and the other exclusives tend to be things that I wouldn't even buy at launch if they were on PS4, let alone buy an Xbone for, but would get eventually when they were cheaper, like Sunset Overdrive.

There is only a very few games that I would want (Zoo Tycoon, Fantasia Music Evolved and Dead Rising 3)...other than that, there is nothing else, and I had that problem on the 360...not a lot of great exclusives. With my 360 dying 3 times before I gave up (once for deleting items off of the system, second one not wanting to connect to internet or even read discs and the third doing the same exact thing as the second), there will be no way that I would fork over the money, unless more exclusives come out, and that would have to be a new Banjo Kazooie, Viva Piñata, Kameo and Perfect Dark...and all of these are probably a no.

No I wouldn't buy an Xbox (adbox) ever. However If they got rid of that horrible dashboard, got rid of those stupid mii rip offs, and went back to the old blades dashboard in the 360's early days then maybe.

Yes I will eventually own a XB1, but not until after I own a Xbox 360, Wii U, PS4, and 3DS first.

There also need to be more than just 8 games I desire to play, like with the Vita.
