@Octane I quite like Lylat wars / Star Fox 64. Its only been bettered by After Burner Climax last gen in the kinda on rails complete in an hour 3d shooty genre.

Real shame to see Shining Force 2 and Haunting Grounds go but I'm happy Valkyria Chronicles got through.A lot of great ones left though which is making this harder!

Oh, sweet! Glad I came back on to check; I'm away for the weekend and won't be back until Monday, and I'd have missed the chance to vote on trying to rescue some really crucial picks! Therefore, my points allocation for the current round is as follows.

3 points to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
3 points to Tomb Raider II

This was actually a really easy call. I've ranted on enough about why I think Arkham Origins should be here; I won't copy and paste those paragraphs but, even if this is goodbye, I've got to give it those final five points. Getting a classic Tomb Raider in the running was also important to me and Tomb Raider II is widely considered the definitive adventure of that era (the single point to the original Tomb Raider is just because I needed four games).

The Phantom Pain has a solid (pun semi-intended) chance of getting through, knowing how some other folk on here might vote, and it deserves to, so I thought I'd give it more than a token boost. It's one of the few examples in this tournament where I'd rank actual gameplay above style, presentation and narrative (although it's got one heck of an original score). Good luck to it.

Forgive the stupid question but the Mega Man II in question is the GameBoy version right? That's the version exclusively listed as Mega Man II, to differentiate it from Mega Man 2 on the NES.

@themcnoisy Ah ok, its just Capcom lists them differently. Mega Man II (Or any Megaman officially referred to by roman numerals II-V) are GB games.

Yes the title screens of the NES games use numerals (which they wisely dropped after 8) (except in Japan I believe it was always numbers there) but Capcom has gone to great lengths to split them apart thusly.

A slight change of tact for this set of picks. Im sacrificing ff8 (as there are loads of ff games in the mix already) and streets of rage 2. They are some of my favourite games but understand how they would struggle to break into the top 50 next round.
Im not a pokemon fan but what Pokemon did for gaming was awesome and prince of persia was an amazing reimagining. Both deserve to be remembered in this list so my sacrificed points go to them.

Glad I've got another chance to vote for Final Fantasy 8. It really pushed the series forward in terms of presentation and production values, has some very memorable set pieces, and an interesting battle system.

As for Skyrim, it's still one of the greatest open-world RPGs. I loved fully immersing myself in its world, exploring and completing quests. The Dark Brotherhood questline is particularly hilarious.

@YummyHappyPills @themcnoisy Yes it's the NES one. I have always wrote Mega Man II on the NES with Roman numerals since well I been writing it that before the Game Boy was even released in NA. So yeah old habits are hard to break I guess.
