I've read a couple of stories on Pokemon Go and the game sounds brilliant. Nintendo use mobile tech in its own way and releases a mega hit. Is everyone giving this a go?

No go. Is it even a game at all? I would rather define it as crack than as a game at all. If this were Farmville Go everyone would have hated it, but because it's Nintendo these free-to-play-microtransaction-grinds are suddenly alright. If you enjoy it, power to you of course. It's of course also a matter of taste, so I don't take these remarks as an offence of any kind.
I'm just being honest with you when I say I'm convinced you'll have more fun and a more meaningful experience doing whatever you would be doing if this game didn't exist. On the other hand I also get that people love Pokémon, are sentimental about it and also sometimes need some mindless kill-time.
@Tasuki: Yes Tasuki, rather catch all the pokemon than all the stds that's what my pokemaster said when I was a kid. Good to hear the games good fun.
@Kidfried: Its bringing communities together and pokespots are popping up. Come on man, we all love Pikachu. If your outside of the bus I'm gonne poke em on. Whoop.

I haven't played it yet but I was driving around a friend yesterday who was.............ended up in the city's cemetery of all things. I can see the appeal for sure.
@Kidfried: No mate, I'm in the UK. Its releasing here later in the year.

@themcnoisy: Hasn't released over here either, but that hasn't stopped people over here from getting the game anyway.
There is a gym right behind my appartment, though. At any moment of the day when I look out my rear window there's people. Had my curtains closed this afternoon for a little bit of privacy.
some girl accidentally stumbled upon a dead person while playing Pokemon Go. Super freaky if you ask me.
Also, my friend found a haunter at the hospital and I'm jealous. Haunter is my favorite Pokemon. (T_T )
It's hard to decide whether this is a game or not since it has no real "gameplay" as it were, but it certainly is revolutionary. As someone who's into running but finds it hard to get motivated for it, Pokemon Go has helped me get up and go for one. Still, I'm cautious about getting addicted to it, simply because I don't want to see myself as a zombie pulling my phone out whenever I go outside. Although there have been some bad stories about it, I love the social aspect of Go since it seems to be bringing people together.
@Anchorsam_9: I think once they add the ability to trade between other players and are able to battle other players then it will be more of game. As it is now it kinda hard to tell.

For anyone in the UK who doesn't know, Pokémon GO is officially out now
I've given it a brief try, but I'm sat at my desk at work so I haven't caught much yet. I have a Charmander, a Pidgey and an Ekans so far. It's quite cool - I like that you have to flick the pokeball at the pokemon at the right angle/speed so you actually hit them, rather than just push a button. I don't think I'm going to be hiking all over the place looking for more pokemon, but it's a nifty little game, and I can certainly see the appeal. It's obviously no replacement for a proper Pokémon game - can't wait for Sun and Moon.
I tried it for a bit yesterday, but my GPS has some problems and so far I've only been able to play with wi-fi connection turned on. Got stopped by a woman in her 50s asking me if I was catching Pokémon too.. It was a weird experience..
I don't do twitter, snapchat, words with friends, tinder, grinder, instagram and barely touch facebook, but I'll be giving Pokémon a thorough run just as soon as I can create an account and log on!
@kyleforrester87: Come on Kyle we all know your on Grinder 24/7. Gotta catch em all. Lol.
Yeah Im too lazy for pokemon go, downloaded it to the wife's phone as mine is a windows phone. Nothing around me, there's a bunch of stuff in the highrise about a mile away funnily enough. You don't wanna go that way in the dark - you would see a real pokemon. Scallywag has rollers in her, pyjamas and trainers on. Her ability to pop out kids is only superseded by her ability to afford 1000 ciggies a week on child benefit money.
