@BLP_Software so what games do you like?

It's great you post on pushsquare.com it really is, but what are you actually doing here?

As an example you won't find me on the unreal engine forums telling them how rubbish unreal engine is.

@themcnoisy Ratchet, Crash, Far Cry, Lots of classic PSone/2 games, God of War (At least for now...) Sonic, Megaman, Rayman...list goes on.

Thats what Im doing here. And yeah I know. Nice to be questioned why a fan is on a fansite huh?

Are all great games.

Havent been a Sonic fan on the internet for very long have you? Remem er I said if I enjoy it a lit of the world will hate it.

Heck I have respect for Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric because of what they are, not what they arent.

I mean Sonic Boom was a game made in CryENGINE that wasnt first person or relied solely on forests and lots of water. So well done to them.

@KratosMD My opinion on Mario 64 and Zelda is also the exact opposite of the rest of the world. I appreciate them though. SotC. Uncharted. Never saw the appeal of GTA tbh.

This is my problem. If its a critical darling or loads of people love it, ill be stuck at the side being horribly objective.

@Octane Hmmm. Only ever dod one full run.

Ill say this. The voice acting made me cringe, the story was meh, the gameplay actually could be a good foundation on a technical level, just ya know, dpad. First person mode was wonky though but the rest of the gameplay was solid.

Linearity was meh i admit and the ingame readons fir story aquiring of power ups was inconsistent and at times baffling sometimes requiring you to use it first.

Graphically its great. But that doesnt sell me a game.

Soundtrack is okay when its there.

Its a solid meh from me really. Could be worse but whats there has promise but is bogged down by off choices.

And im not a contrarian. Its genuinely how i feel. If it makes ya feel better I agree that Mario Galaxy is amazing, I prefer Sonic Adventure to Adventure 2, Randy Pitchford is indeed a twit.

I know its oxymoronical to have an objective opinion but my opinions arent based on whats better or wirse or what was promised, but what you put money down for.

So what if x feature was better in another game? What if x game is like y game? Thats not what i paid for. The review should be about the game as its own product.

Id only reference previous franchise entries if something changed for the worse to illustrate a point but never another series altogether because those dont affect the product within its context as you paid for it.

If that makes sense.

Basically it means im very harsh on critical darlings and appreciative of other less liked games for what they are

@kyleforrester87 God no. I never liked them when they were relevant.

@KratosMD A definitive edition with all the DLC would totally justify the cost, imo, considering how much DLC came out for that game. All DLC and all content from both versions would make it an instabuy for me.

@KratosMD @Ralizah is there even a 1% chance the GameCube adapter will work? I don't know enough about the switch but I feel like that's a long shot. It will be sad to play a smash without the option for GameCube controllers. As much as I dislike melee (one of the few), they really nailed the controller.

@ztpayne7 I doubt that will ever happen. Now maybe a wireless Bluetooth Gamecube controller for the switch like the pro I can see. But since the adapter was created for the Wii U....

@ztpayne7 It would be a real shame if the adapter didn't work. I've held onto mine for more than a year since I originally sold my Wii U copy (couldn't justify keeping it when I just found the 3DS version superior in almost ever way) with the hope that I'll be able to use it with Nintendo's next console. I can't see any reason why we shouldn't be able to just hook it to the dock.

@Ralizah Want to share NNID's and PSN ID's? It's always nice having some online buddies who share my passion for Nintendo and Sony consoles! ^_^

@BLP_Software It was alright imo, I need to replay that game again, cause I don't remember it to be as bad as some make it out to be. Didn't like the first person pixel hunting though, that is the only thing I remember disliking about it.

@ztpayne7 @Tasuki The GameCube adapter works through USB, the Switch has 3 or 4 USB ports, so it's possible in theory. Just like how they can make Wii Remotes compatible in theory. The tech isn't the problem, it depends on whether Nintendo wants it to happen or not.

@Octane Nintendo has been less restrictive with the Switch than it has with its last gen systems so far. Region free. Adding an easy way to play BotW in multiple languages. Now 8bitdo controllers work on the system. I hope that attitude extends to letting people use that GameCube adapter.

Well we now know the real reason for Nintendo discontinuing the NES Classic.
