@KratosMD Even our second hand stores sell Switch games for like £45. I literally own 2 physical Switch games because there’s just no point. The others I bought through key sites which are now shutting down or on the eShop during one of the very crap sales. It’s mad considering that I bought like 45 Wii games during its lifespan and I didn’t even have my own income then.
Nintendo's pricing habits cause me to buy a lot more of their games at launch than I do Sony's. As @Arugula points out, the fact that their games barely sink in price means there's literally no reason not to buy them at release if you have the money, whereas, with something like Ghost of Tsushima or TLOU Part II, I'm always going to be wondering how much lower it'll sink if I wait longer. Given super AAA games like HZD and GoW didn't take long to sink to $9.99 in sales, that price floor is pretty low. Not to mention that certain Sony-published games actually become available via PS+, which also makes me less inclined to outright buy games when the possibility exists to obtain them for free.
Of course, the flip side of that is that I do end up buying a lot more of Sony's stuff down the road, whereas, if I don't pick up a Ninty game at launch, I'm likely to ignore it for the rest of the gen.
Pretty embarrassed to admit this but I recently bought one of those low budget fanservice games (well, I got it for free since I have a bunch of gold coins I wasn't planning on using) called Waifu Uncovered.
Unlike the wealth of other fanservice games out there this one actually has honest to goodness nudity in it, which is sooo bizarre seeing on a Nintendo platform (or any console really, especially considering it's the entire point of the game, and not just one small scene in a greater context). It feels kind of dirty seeing the icon next to Animal Crossing, lol. It's not great, but it's functional & worth it for the lulz since I got it free.

@RR529 I’m pretty sure I saw an article on NLife today that literally said that game had been removed from the eShop! I assume somebody noticed the nudity 😂😂
@nessisonett, it was only removed from the Japanese eShop as far as I'm aware (I think even bare breasts are legally outlawed on console over there, even though they're fair game in manga, Film/TV, and PC gaming, which is why the nudity is censored out of the older God of War games & a few other western AAA's over there, and why none of the Japanese made fanservice games actually go that far, except for titles that originate on PC, but those are always censored if they get a console release, due to Japan's laws on nudity in console games).
I think things are a bit looser as far as western markets are concerned (as long as it's not determined to be full on porn), it's just that it's rarely seen as western studios in general don't make fanservice games (this is one of the few I've heard of), and the numerous Japanese games have the limitations of their homegrown rules built in.

So, there's a Nintendo Direct Mini in about 6 hours (3pm UK time, 7am Pacific, 10 am Eastern). It'll be focused on 3rd party titles. It'll be about 10 minutes in length according to their Japanese twitter account.
After Pokemon Unite and Bakugan, my expections are very low. However, I'll happily eat my words if they share some SMT V or Bayonetta 3 footage.
This sounds like the first of many. Given it's called "The first in a series".
Also kiiiiinda nuts how Nintendo is dedicating an entire slot to third party stuff exclusively.
Also ironic given how insiders said Nintendo told third parties to do it on their own time and theyd never do this....but hey what do insiders know?
I think this is both a reaction to the state of the world, and also a way to give third parties a podium on Switch, something they've done for indies already. Probably be quite wise, given third party games do well.
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
I kind of lost interest of the series in the PS2 era. I guess the stories were somewhat repetitive and I hate silent protagonists in general. Nocturne (or Lucifer's Call according to my PAL PS2 box, forgot about that change!!) was OK. SMTV might hook me back though. I thought we would see Doom Eternal on Switch in this direct but I guess the port if still far away.
@KratosMD SMT III is more difficult, but I think it's fine to start with. SMT IV is easier overall, but the first dungeon is probably the hardest first dungeon in the series, so it frontloads its difficulty. They're both excellent games, though.
If it didn't have explicit story connections to IV, I'd be tempted to recommend IV: Apocalypse, because I feel like it's the most approachable game in the series, and is probably the easiest way for a Persona fan to transition over (mechanically, it's pure SMT, but unlike Nocturne and IV is has a strong emphasis on character development).
Of the two, I'd probably recommend SMT IV. Nocturne HD isn't coming until next year anyway, so there's plenty of time to get into it.
@Ralizah I called this yesterday, I said there’d be SMT news! I’m so excited, Nocturne’s the best game under the SMT banner, including the Persona games so everybody here’s in for an absolute treat.
As weird as a crossover it is I actually thought Dante fitted into Nocturne fairly well @nessisonett aside from the slightly gaudy way it was presented on the Lucifer's Call box art
Raidou ain't bad by any means but from the looks of things the remaster'll be be based off the second and exclusive re-release japan had.
Don't actually think there's any other differences in that specific version of the game besides plonking Raidou in though.
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Yeah, I agree, the Dante crossover was legitimately good. It’s interesting to put Raidou in though, we really haven’t seen much of him since the PS2 days.
@KratosMD Yeah, Atlus has historically had major issues distributing their games in countries that aren't Japan/U.S. SMT V getting a simultaneous worldwide release suggests that Nintendo is publishing, which isn't terribly surprising.
But yeah, Atlus has a massive back catalog of classic games that should be updated for modern consoles. No reason P3, the Raidou games, Digital Devil Saga, etc. shouldn't be playable on modern systems.
@nessisonett inb4 remasters of the Devil Summoner PS2 games.
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy The prominence of voice acting in that trailer would seem to suggest that the game is mostly or fully voice acted, which is awesome. The game doesn't need much of an update otherwise. It's still gorgeous.
@Ralizah I find it strange how there are legions of ‘fans’ (people who’ve seen that Persona 5 is good on Reddit but have never played the game) who spend their life demanding a Switch port yet I’ve seen nobody demanding SMT V on PS4? Like, I get that Persona’s ‘in’ now but the last few SMT games have been some of the best JRPGs in recent history and you’d think people would be upset about Nintendo exclusivity.
