@KratosMD It only got a digital release. It's worth mentioning that Limited Run Games is releasing a physical version of the game, though. In limited quantities, obviously.

@KratosMD I think that's coming next month. Limited Run Games is doing a physical edition IIRC. Where did you see the game? The eShop?

It got buried almost as soon as it released. Public good will really dried up for that game. Which is too bad, as I thought what I played of it on PC was quite good and the Switch version is supposedly extremely well-optimized for the platform.

@KratosMD I thought the first 3 worlds were pretty good (loved world 1), but it nosedives in quality after that. Shame really. I got it for £10 and still thought I overpaid & traded it in immediately after.
Definitely temper your expectations.

Yooka-Laylee sounds like a game where their ambition was outweighed by their resources. I'm generally not a fan of enormous levels in platformers, which has put me off a bit.

@Knuckles-Fajita Thanks for the track recommendations - I have been listening to little bits of the XBX music today. I quite like that style of music, it's very different to the first game.

@Ralizah Sounds doable - I did complete Order of Ecclesia, although one particular boss did drive me up the wall. My reflexes are a bit slower these days. Anyhoo all this praise has swayed me so I think I will get Hollow Knight. It's a lot cheaper than I thought, too.

@mookysam Most of the bosses are pretty manageable (to complete the main story: all bets are off with some of the DLC bosses), but there was one near the end that I really struggled with.

But, all in all, the difficulty isn't overwhelming at all.

And, especially for the price, it's a BIG game.

Can't recommend it enough.

@mookysam It is, and I quite enjoy it. The area themes are grand and imposing, or relaxing with Shiro no Tairiku, which is fitting. The battle themes are all high energy and very anime given, you know, mechs vs giant monsters!

Must say, Ys VIII has hooked me, visual issues aside.

My first Switch Steelbook too..hopefully the Switch receives more steelbooks.

Downloaded Assault Gunners HD Edition today and played around with it for a bit. It's a bit simple, but a nice change of pace from the rest of my, overwhelmingly fantasy themed, Switch collection.

Also still working my way through Ys VIII, and have hit 35 hours playtime according to my profile.

@KratosMD it's not until recently I even played my Switch unlocked and now I reckon I play half docked and half undocked,so I hope it plays just as well whichever way we decide to play it.
So having read two reviews on the game (PushSquare and Nintendolife) and now your opinion on the first few hours I actually feel more excited about playing it than when I played the demo lol.
It sounds like it has a lot more content than what I expected it to have.What with Persona like events as you say.Obviously the demo wasn't long enough to show you how much better the combat would improve in the main game.
At one point I only used to play one game at a time,two at the most and now I'm getting overwhelmed on which game I should be playing.lol

@KratosMD I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the game! I don't own the full game, but I did play the demo in handheld mode, and it looks really sharp. I can't imagine the full game is any different in that regard.

Warframe is pretty cool, has definitely made big strides in the 5 years I've played it. Looking forward to seeing how the Switch port turns out. If it runs well in portable mode that will be fantastic.

@Gamer83 I remember I tried Warframe years ago on PS4 and wasn't impressed. Might give it another shot on Switch.

Depending on when you've played it, a lot has been added to it over time. It's a much better game now than it was a few years ago.

Played Warframe earlier in the year on PS4. Found it a bit boring tbh. There seemed to be no variation in gameplay and came across as a free version of Destiny.
