So is anyone still playing their 3DS in 2019? I've been putting time into Minecraft with the kids and tons of Smash/Mario Kart 7 myself.

@Link41 I'm actually playing on my 3DS way more than the past couple of years since I'm just now going through my extensive backlog. I finished Yo-Kai Watch a couple of weeks ago and now I'm playing Persona Q. In other words, I'm mostly playing RPGs on the system, of which there is an abundance of. There are just so many phenomenal games on the system in general, like the Mario & Luigi games, Fire Emblem, Bravely Default, Pokémon, Dragon Quest, Xenoblade Chronicles etc. I'm still buying games for the system as a matter of fact, with the latest ones being Bowser's Inside Story and Superstar Saga. My next purchases that I'm planning on are Dragon Quest VIII, Persona Q2, Tales of the Abyss, Ever Oasis, Luigi's Mansion, Yo-Kai Watch 3, Miitopia and Monster Hunter Stories. Some games like DQ VIII and Persona Q2 are really rare here so I'm waiting for more copies to come into stock. As soon as they do, I'm buying these games instantly.

The 3DS honestly has one of the best libraries of video games that I've ever seen on any system, especially if you're an RPG fan.

Ive played all the ones you mentioned except for Yokai Watch games. Aren't they just kiddie pokemon clones? Oh and I never got miitopia. Is it still playable or do you need online or amibo to play? Thats what keeps me from getting Animal crossing games. I never played those. I have a feeling they need big communities that still play.

In case people are interested, Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology is currently €12 on the EU 3DS eShop. I've been waiting a long time to buy this game on the eShop since they didn't release a physical version of it. I'm glad I could add this to my 3DS backlog of JRPGs because I've heard a lot of great things about it. Looking forward to playing it!

Word of advice though, the credit card function on the 3DS and Wii U eShops has been completely removed but you can still buy games through Nintendo's website. Don't follow the link they mention on the system though; if you search for a game and go to the purchase screen, you'll be able to only add the required amount of funds instead of having to choose between fixed amounts.
