@Rudy_Manchego I used to be creative and make things with friends a lot, until a few years ago, when life happened and I kind of just stopped doing that. It's to hear kids and work hasn't stopped you.

I occasionally listen a bit, by the way! It's not like anything else I've seen online, is it?

@Kidfried Yeah to be honest, the same happened to me as I used to do loads more. It's why I got back into gaming because with kids and a stressy job, I needed to find some kind of way of having a life outside of that and the podcast just came out of that.

Since we can't do a real research like the fine folks at Push Square, we decided to go down the root of parodying the news and gaming culture with silly characters and voices. A good way to use our High School Drama qualifications (kind of). Appreciate the listen - amazed you made it past the first few minutes

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

Two of the podcasts I watch have gone audio only - Gamescoop and Beyond both from IGN. So looking for new ones to watch. Pretty Good Gaming I already subscribe to, I'm not entirely sold on it so far but I am willing to stick with it for now. Will be having a look on YouTube to see if there is anything that I fancy, and this thread for recommendations.

So the last couple of Beyond podcasts I've watched they have referenced Push Square! I'm a few weeks behind, but the first one was regarding ChinaJoy as IGN did not cover it so they referenced a lot of articles from PS. The next one they mentioned @Quintumply directly about some Activision article you did.

I know Colin Moriaty always mentions PS on his Sacred Symbols podcast too.

So well done guys @get2sammyb @antdickens @ShogunRok, looks like you are getting more exposure and recognition for the work you are doing!

@Th3solution I've almost caught up on SS, only got a couple of weeks to go. Seeing as I was about 2 months behind at the start of the year. They do talk about some random stuff!

@JohnnyShoulder Yeah, they are pretty off the rails at times. I like it. It keeps it fresh. The format has run a wee-but stale so I like the times when they mix in a little randomness. Not being a patron, I don’t get to hear the SS+ content, but it’s got the added variety it seems. Nevertheless, like you, I really barely keep up with the base content each week, and tend to binge when I have 2-3 weeks of backlog.
Have you tried the new PS I love you XOXO? I’m not planning to listen to it, personally, but I’m curious as to the quality.

These are the podcasts I listen to:

1. Easy Allies Podcast - fun listen that covers big news and stuff
2. Frame Trap (also an Easy Allies podcast) - it's a much more in-depth podcast than the main EA one, usually featuring four or five long conversations about various games, and other stuff. Podcast usually runs over two hours. Good for those days where you're playing Dragon Quest XI and grinding and you need something to listen to.
3. Sacred Symbols - for my PlayStation banter. Used to love Beyond, and then PS I Love You XOXO, and now Sacred Symbols fills that void.

Oh and @Th3solution, for what it's worth, I listened to the first new PS I Love You XOXO and I found it really boring. It's pretty flat, and the new guy isn't very good.

@Th3solution Nah not too keen on Kinda Funny since Colin left. I can do small doses of it but a whole podcast.

I do the 2 quid Patreon so can access SS+ and submit questions. Once I've caught up I will give Knockback a go, as they have covered a few things I would not mind listening to.

@JohnnyShoulder Some of the knockback episodes are quite good. I enjoyed hearing 2 hour discussions with his brother about things like Metal Gear Solid or the Star Wars Movies. His brother is actually a pretty cool guy with his experience in art and animation. I like hearing his take on the old Disney movies too.

There’s us ? A pg podcast so anyone can listen or listen when you have kids in the car , it’s not playstation specific and we cover all 3 major platforms and pc gaming - we have a topic of the week and weave the listener comments sourced from instagram into the show - I’ll end that there as I don’t want to seem to pushy - thank you for your time and suggestions on other shows to fill the hours I have in the car - take care guys and girls

Have a listen to the unofficial controller podcast- on iTunes - Spotify - Sticher - castbox and tunein

Pretty gutted due to Kyle leaving the Easy Allies podcast. It's a weird thing to say with the corona virus going on and such, but it does feel that way.

Just hope the Allies manage to keep things fresh enough now pretty much their biggest name has left.

I got pretty far behind with the only podcast I listen to, Sacred Symbols, but since I’ve subscribed then all the episodes have continued to download so I’m trying to catch up now. It’s very funny to listen to them talk in February about things like the PS5 and about Coronavirus way before it hits the western world. About how there was speculation PS5 may not have any next gen exclusives at launch and how the console will likely not be delayed because of the financial risk. Chris was saying how he thinks next gen won’t have any major changes to gameplay rather than just a graphical upgrade. I’m curious to hear their impressions now 4 months later that we’ve seen the PS5 event. Looks like PS5 will do plenty of things not possible on PS4. And there appears to be plenty of games that will not be cross-gen at launch.

@Th3solution I was way behind when I first became a pateron, but I got fully caught up a few months back. Do you listen to any of the knockback shows too? Listening to some of their takes of films and games I've seen i find fascinating. Even if the subject doesn't interest me (like childhood friends for instance) i will listen to the first part of the show just to catch up on what they have been upto and how they are coping with stuff. Degan does have a tendency to be rather long winded with what he says.

It made me chuckle when they were both baffled by the backwards compatibility stuff on the Cerny power hour, then still baffled when it got explained further.

@JohnnyShoulder I’ve listened to all the Sacred Symbols since day 1, but Knockback I have just done a little pick-and-choose based on if the subject interests me. So I’ve heard a handful of episodes — like the breakdown of the original Star Wars Trilogy, Indiana Jones, Nolan’s Batman Trilogy, the early Disney movies, Metal Gear Solid, Favorite War movies, etc. I do really like Knockback too and I might go back to listen to more of them if I ever catch up on SS. I quite like Degan’s take on a lot of things. He does go on for a while but mostly I think it’s because Colin actually sits back and is more passive in that podcast and does a lot more listening. Not that he doesn’t listen to Chris too, I find him to be opinionated, but also respectful to contrary opinions, but in SS he definitely takes more of a lead role and dominates the direction of discussion. He has like a run sheet in SS to check all the boxes, whereas in KB he just talks to his brother like they’re sitting on the couch over a beer.

Some of the Fireside Chats episodes are pretty good too. Where he had on random special guests with unique backgrounds, often just some of his listeners who wrote in and said they have an interesting life story to tell. Too bad he was getting too many threats and couldn’t take the chance on possibly unknowingly inviting a nutcase into his home to do the show, so he had to stop doing it for his own safety and the safety of his girlfriend. People are just awful.

It's not really a gaming podcast, but you should really watch Delayed Input (with Kyle Bosman, previously Easy Allies and GameTrailers). Very well made and written shows each week. This week's episode is on Returnal.

I've been following Kyle since GameTrailers, and always enjoy his unique take on games, so I'm glad to be a patreon for his new show, which is really playing to his strengths.

Listened to SS since Day 1 but last couple of months I've just not had the time - juggling work and a new born means I can't get the 2-3 hours to sit and listen. Even if I listen in stages episodes just start backing up. I would be interested in the Patreon to hear the KnockBack episodes in the future.

Out of habit (and because they're short) I still listen to Players Too Podcast and The Cundy & Nathan Show. I do enjoy the odd Cane and Rinse podcast but that's only if i have the time.

@Kidfried Are you still looking for a podcast? Check out Minnmax! They're great they have all types of content one of my favorites being their Deepest Dive. Like currently they're doing Mass Effect and the first episode they have everyone stop at the Citadel and talk about the game for two hours up to that point. Then they'll set another checkpoint for the next episode and do it again. Their community gaming trivia is really fun too, Ben and Greg Miller just had an episode.

Also I'm gonna check out your guy delayed input, I'm always looking for new content.

Quick heads up for those who were/are giantbomb fans that Brad, Vinny and Alex have started a new podcast called Nextlander. They also seem to be doing some stuff for E3 with the folks at waypoint.
