I finished Unravel (****) tonight. I finished the game, but I'm still going for the no-death run. somewhere in the next few weeks. The game is good. Gameplay wise it's not the next Mario, but it's got enough charm (in story and graphics) to make it stand next to the best platformers of this generation.

Monument Valley & Dokuro (both on Android)

I've heard lots of good things about Monument Valley, so I picked it up when it was on sale a couple weeks ago. What an absolutely breathtaking experience. I didn't think it was particularly hard (except for maybe the final section in the bonus level), but each level had it's own unique twist, and it was one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.

Dokuro is sort of an "escort puzzle platformer", where you play as a little skeleton minion who betrays the "Dark Lord" by freeing the princess in the castle tower. In each level you'll have to find a way to deal with all the obstacles standing in the way of the princess & her way forward. I won't say how many levels there are because that'd be a story spoiler, but it is a full game, and I'd say it was worth the $2 I spent on it (despite the fact it has some issues you'd come to expect from escort missions). I believe it's on Vita too, though I heard it's more expensive on that platform.

I finished Drakengard 3 which is easier said than done thanks to the most difficult final boss ever put in a video game

I've just beat Halo 5 on Legendary Solo. Took some doing and a horrendous difficulty spike on the penultimate level nearly made me abandon it completely.

@Kidfried: Couldn't agree more, I know not everyone has fallen for Unravel like me but I thought it was good fun the no deaths run was annoying for 1 section but on the whole not too bad.

I've just finished Ori & The Blind Forest and it's up there with the best games I've played!!!

@mrobinson91 Ori is a fantastic game. The Ginso Tree section caused me quite a bit of stress and frustration the first time but somehow on the Definitive Edition I managed to do that first time!

@crippyd: Man I want to play Ori so bad. Kinda sucks they cancelled the 360 version. When I get an Xbox One that will probably be one of my first purchases.

@Tasuki I think it's time you joined the Xbox One fold 😉 I think Ori will be quite cheap now, probably about $10-15.

@crippyd: Lol yeah I am hoping to get one once the slim comes out. I am sure I will be able to find a used fat model Xbox One pretty cheap. I just have other expenses to take care of first.

So, having missed the whole of the PS3 scenne, was on a 360 before, I've decided to try Beyond: Two Souls.

I have to say, I was amazed by it. The story telling was incredible, and the command prompts were really well built into the game. I am glad I gave it a chance, it cmpletely blew my mind.

Also finished with Uncharted, beautiful game, the story telling got back to where it always should've been, even if I was always expecting it to go back to silly paranormal stuff, or to end up being a re-hash of the same old stuff. it wasn't, and to me it is the best game of the bunch, humanised the characters, gave them a sort of depth, which the past games failed to do.

Having a go at Shadow of Mordor GOTY, I really like it but I don't get why it got so many awards, it's the kind of game you pick up when you want to roam around killing Uruks, screwing up with their ranks, Nemesis system is such a great idea for that, loved the whole revelation of who the elf spectre really is, they tied in the lore of LotR really well with this one. Not finished yet but looking real good.

You and what army?

Metroid Prime: Blast Ball (3DS)

Nintendo released the Blast Ball portion of MP:FF completely free (I guess as a way of trying to win over those disappointed by the game's announcement), and it's well worth the download.

In terms of solo play modes, you have practice, quick match, and challenge (a series of 5 matches escalating in difficulty). It also holds a demo for the main portion of FF, and a couple of the training exercises within (target practice, and a segmet where you fight waves of holographic space pirates) record your high scores, which are shared on online leaderboards.

In terms of multiplayer modes, you have local play & online play (though the online portion will be limited to those who buy the full game, sometime after it's release).

Anyhow, I finally beat the challenge mode after having the game for a week, so I'm counting it beat. I still have some achievements left to unlock (which take the form of new paint jobs for your mech, which is actually pretty cool), so I'll probably still fire it up from time to time for some quick matches.

@KratosMD, I think it unlocked for me after I scored my first goal (may have been winning my first game, though).

Just beat Hitman GO: Definitive Edition and it took me less than four hours. The premise of the game is great, but I didn't find the gameplay deep enough and the game is lacking quite a bit in the content department too. Hitman GO is currently discounted for a reasonable price, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it for the full 8 bucks (**).

I've beaten a few games in the past month including AC: Syndacite, South Park Stick of Truth, Resident Evil Revelations 2 Ep. 1, and most recently the Captain Scarlett DLC from Borderlands 2. I have recently been craving horror games. Which is why I played the first episode of RE Revelations (which I think I might have gotten for free at some point), but I unfortunately don't have the other episodes. Now I am playing through Outlast because I have it from when it was free on PS Plus and I only played the intro back when I first downloaded it. I am really liking it so far I think I'm a little over halfway through it. Is the DLC worth it? I'm also thinking about getting Alien Isolation or Evil Within to scratch my horror game itch, but am debating whether or not waiting for a sale because of my long backlog and lack of free time.

@KratosMD: Okay, cool. I have tried out RE4 and Revelations, but the controls in RE4 were a little too weird to get used to. I did like Revelations though and I'll check out the other ones you mentioned as well.

Finished Flow (***) for the second time, but this time on the PlayStation 4 instead of its predecessor. It's a beautiful game and controls really well on PS4 for the experience it wants to deliver. The game is very short, and you can finish it within an hour, but the game also shouldn't have been any longer as it isn't that compelling either. Multiplayer experience is nice too.

Front Mission Evolved (360)

It's a decently fun mech game. Not the best game ever, but worth a look if you're into the genré/theme (more detailed thoughts in the Xbox thread).

Beat DS3 for the third time to get the last ending, just need to get the last couple of Achievements to 100% it.

Just yesterday I finished Fallout 4 (****). I could sum up all the different ways in which this game is such a great experience, just as I can give you a rundown of the thousands shortcomings it has. I enjoyed my time (over 200 hours and still no platinum!), but I can also understand why someone would be disappointed in the game.
I'm gonna do a replay to get the last few trophies and then move on. It was fun exploring the Commonwealth, but I'm done. I'm happy I'll never have to worry about settlements ever again and at the same time sad that this game didn't have that many great sidequests.

The last few games I beat were Outlast, Mad Max, the Borderlands 2 DLCs and the Automatron DLC for Fallout 4.

Outlast was a game I started when it came out because of Plus, but after dying a couple times in the beginning segment I just gave up on. I came back to it because I was craving a good horror game, and that was one I had, but never gave a real chance to. I thoroughly enjoyed Outlast. There was a perfect amount of really tense moments, but also downtime that let you relax a little bit. The length was perfect, story was intriguing, gameplay was fluid and easy to control.

Mad Max was really fun at first, but when I took a long break from it, coming back to it was a chore to play it. I stopped enjoying the car combat, and the environments became very redundant and boring. However, the story picked up towards the end, but overall I was slightly disappointed.

I beat Borderlands 2 awhile ago, but came back to it after purchasing The Handsome Collection. I wasn't planning on playing them. I bought the collection solely for The Pre-Sequel, but I'm glad I did. I was in the mood for some mindless looting and first person shooting. Like most people, my favorite DLC was Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. The story was quirky and fun.

Lastly, The Automatron DLC was short, but fun. I bought the season pass for Fallout 4 at launch, beat the main game awhile ago, and have been waiting to play the DLC until they are all released. I wanted to be able to come back to The Commonwealth with a big chunk of content. Automatron was a good re-introduction into Fallout 4 after being away for awhile. I beat it in two short sittings, and then played around with some of the crafting DLCs as well. After that, I started the Far Harbor DLC, which I am looking forward to. If it's anything like Fallout 3's Point Lookout DLC then I will be happy. Seems promising thus far.
