Well it is time to talk about the PS2 only.What is everyone's favorite PS2 game?

I still wonder why they did not make the first skylanders game for the PS2.It had a huge fanbase of 150+ million they put it on the 3DS so the PS2 should and most likely could pull it.

I love my ps2 and I'll continue to love it as long as Konami refuses to give Silent Hill 2, 3, and 4 a proper HD/ remaster treatment.

I still have my PS 2 hooked up and play it on occasion. Way to many games on their for me to pick a favorite.

The PS2 is one of the best consoles made.
I still have mine hook up and play it every now and then also use it as a DVD player and watch avatar the last airbender and movies on it.My favorite game is the sega classics collection.

Yeah, I loved the PS2 back in the day.

Though I know this choice is heavily nostalgia feuled, I'd pick my favorite game on the system as Final Fantasy X. While Kingdom Hearts is what initiated my interest in JRPGs, FFX is the game that cemented it, and it just wowed me at every turn (to be fair, I haven't played it in years, though).

Heck, even some of my favorite games from recent years have been PS2 ports/remasters, like Tales of the Abyss & MGS3 on my 3DS, and the Zone of the Enders HD Collection on my 360.

@andrew20: I actually bought the PS2 after I already had an X360. The main reason were Silent Hill series and a number of other horror titles like Fatal Frame. And of course, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus.

I got mine in 2010 so I was very late to the party but got my 3DS in 2011

Rogue Galaxy from Level 5 is my favourite PS2 game to date.

@NomNom: Is that a great game never played it or heard about it before.

Well worth your time if you can find a copy. The dungeon design could be a tad better, but everything else about it is so great you'll be happy to overlook that!

Rogue Galaxy is a lovely game but I found the combat system took a little getting used to. Once the game clicked with me I was hooked.

I still have my PS2 hooked up to my TV and have quite a few games still on my shelf to play. It's unparalleled for JRPGs (although the DS and PSP are also brilliant for those). My favourite games on it are FFX, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest VIII, Persona 4, Okami and Shadow Hearts 2. For anyone who hasn't played the Shadow Hearts games I thoroughly recommend the first two.

@mookysam: One of my biggest gaming regrets was that I stopped playing Dragon Quest VIII without getting all that far (I was about 10 hours in). I still have it, so will go back to it one day if I pick up another PS2 (or if the 3DS port comes West)

@SteveButler2210: I actually ended up restarting DQ8 a few months after getting it because I couldn't get into it on my first go. I still need to get the secret ending but gave up because of the amount of grinding needed. It's still technically on my to do list. Hopefully the 3ds version will be released here.

My PS4 is my first PS console, but I'd LOVE to play Project Zero/Fatal Frame's PS2 games.

Nice thing about PS2 is that they are fairly cheap. I picked up a fat model PS2 about a year ago from a retro game shop for 35 dollars.

That's right but I don't want to have too many consoles in the living room.

Thank you for the recommendation, there are many interesting games coming soon, I just hope Sony works on backwards compatibility somehow (like Microsoft is doing).
