Not completely related to the original topic but something i have noticed when generally browsing vita related threads is the number of posters who imply that sony actually seems to want the vita to 'fail'. As much as i would like them to regularly produce AAA games for the system, as other people in this thread have mentioned, its just not really viable (sadly). This doesnt mean they dont want the system to succeed - in all honesty i cant imagine anyone wants the system to succeed more than the people who produced it!

Let's be honest here, Sony of Europe and Sony of America could really care less about the Vita,......almost zero advertising, mediocre if any appearance at trade shows and events, and from the first and second party perspective, it's pretty obvious they they shifted the vast majority of assets to the PS4.

The only reason SOE and SOA continue to support the Vita is because the big boss in Sony of Japan still does. As long as the Vita does alright to good in Japan, the west will continue to support it via indies and the rare AAA port (Borderlands 2 or Revelations 2). The west will continue to stress PS Now and PS4 remote play via the Vita, but until the Vita suddenly grows 4 extra buttons, it will always be a gimped experince.

The reason you buy a unique console is because of the exclusives and IP's you love. If your new to the Sony handheld family, you'll have dozens of games to keep you busy, but if owned a PSP and Vita for sometime, you might as well purchase a Nvidia Shield (better specs and design) or the 3DS (at least Nintendo still shows portables love).

At this point it isn't even the lack of AAA games more so how no first/second party games are even being made for the most part apart from things like those boring match 3 free to play games.

I'd agree if it weren't for the fact that a console without AAA games is on death row. Don't get me wrong, they don't want it to fail, but they aren't committed enough to save it either. They have I think 13 studios, and they can't have one of them make a AAA game for the vita once a year?

I'll take the Vita to the grave with me, even if Sony won't.

I'm just sad to see things like youtube and Destiny of Spirits go. Those are the types of signs that they are really giving up. Other than that I'm still very happy to simply use my Vita as an indie machine. But my goodness when I can pull myself away from the addiction of trophies and I pick up my 3DS the different in game quality is very very clear.
