I'd also recommend the 1000 model as it has a better screen and will be cheaper, therefore you can invest more money into getting a large memory card I know some people have recommended a 64gb card as an absolute must buy but there very expensive and honestly I think a 32gb is loads of space. I have a 16gb card and I have exactly 20 games on it at the moment (a lot of small indie games plus a couple of bigger games). 32gb is the perfect size I think, you'd have space for plenty of indie titles plus enough room to download at least 5 bigger gb games like Metal Gear Solid HD collection or such. Rememeber that generally the biggest final size tends to be around 3.5gb, don't think I've a game bigger than that and the games that have that size are Final Fantasy X HD, Sly Cooper 1+2 HD, Sly Cooper 3 HD, MGS HD Collection, Ratchet and Clank HD collection.

So basically I'd say get the cheaper model and invest your savings in a good sized memory card also if your buying games I'd wait off buying some of the dearer titles such as those mentioned above as they appear in sales quite a bit, Vita sales are generally very good now that the system is four years old had has a big library

Hey guys, it's me again with another question, What are the most popular cross platform and ad-hoc games on the vita? Also, what are the best PSP and PS1 games on the Vita, as well as upcoming games on the Vita?

@DarkmarkUnited: Not too sure about the ad-hoc and cross-platform part of the question but I think Helldivers is cross-platform and is meant to be very good. In terms of ps1 classics, there's a few Final Fantasy games there that are worth playing (VII, VIII and IX I think) Crash Bandicoot is worth a go, Spyro trilogy worth a shout too and maybe Metal Gear Solid? Also Suikoden 1+2 if you like JRPGS and Castlevania: Symphoney of the Night which is an 2D action RPG and considered one of the greatest games ever. It should be said that a lot of ps1 classics haven't aged well but if you can see past that there's some fun games there. For PSP great library there, a lot of good JRPGS again like Lunar: silver star harmony, Trails in the sky, Persona 3, Valkyria Chronicles, Final Fantasy Tactics (strategy RPG), Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, Disgaea series for strategy RPG, Patapon is a fun rhythm game with rpg elements, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Tactics Ogre (Strategy RPG). Hope that helps a bit

Also, what about region exclusive games for the PS VITA, and should I get (aside from my Canadian account) a Japanese account or a European account. Also, What about memory cards, I heard they were expensive, but I don't know how much. Also, If anyone is wishing to sell their PS VITA 1000 model or PS VITA Silm model or some games, Please let me know at [email protected]

In the US we do not have Crash or Spyro PS1 classics, due to some publishing issues, although on the reversal we do have a few titles on PSN that Europe does not, like the Metal Slug anthology.

Do not buy Vita for remote play or physical games, buy it for the selection of downloadable PS1, PSP, and Vita titles.

As for the memory card price, I think it was a ploy by Sony to indirectly make up for the cost of the base hardware. Sell the Vita for a major loss (especially with that orginal OLED), but make memory mandatory and massively inflate it's price to counteract the huge loss.

@DarkmarkUnited: it's a good break from what you get on the 3ds. I think that Nintendo has the more endearing titles, but there's a lot to like about the Vita too. If you like handheld systems, go ahead and take the plunge.

I went all out and got Ps plus and 64 gigs. You do get some of that money back with decent sales and no sales tax. I got mortal Kombat and tekken / Street fighter for something like $10, usually a total of $40

@DarkmarkUnited: you can only play a select number of titles on pstv, so I think your better off buying a vita and getting full access to psone classics, psp and vita games

Yes, but buy one with the right expectations.

There are virtually no games coming out for it anymore, so aside from 2, MAYBE 3 physical games a year worth buying (and that's assuming you love JRPG's), it's indies and backlog only. And also note the remote play has lag, but you don't own a PS4 anyways.

With that said, there are some good games. I have about 40 physical games, but many of them are "good" rather than "great". Focusing on just the best for you, since you don't have a recent home console, I'd recommend

Wipeout 2048
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Persona 4 Golden
Persona 4: Dancing All Night
Gravity Rush
Tearaway
Final Fantasy X
Tales of Hearts R
Sonic Racing Transformed
Ray man Origins and Legends

Also, Legends of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel releases Dec 15, with part 2 coming in 2016 (along with World of Final Fantasy). These are your only 2 physical games to look forward to ATM.

As for PSN, there's all the Final Fantasy games, Persona games, and lots of oddball gems like Geometry Wars 3, Stealth Inc 1 and 2 and Resogun.

All in all its a nice little system, just understand that there's maybe 10 truly excellent retail titles, 40 or so "good" retail titles and maybe 20 or so really great indies, and a decent selection of PSone and PSP. It's enough to be worth owning for, just don't expect anything more than that.

Gamestop has the new model (colored blue) on sale for $169.99 but personally, I'd go with OLED. Can find new on eBay for same price.

And you want a 64gb card. 32 is a joke unless you don't buy many games. Even 64 is ultimately inadequate but it's the best they offer. Can buy from YesAsia for around $80 shipped.

I think the games that I have played the most on the Vita are Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max and the Metal Slug Anthology.

The Vita is a bastion of RPGs. From the original PlayStation and also from it's own library. You can play FF7, FF8. FF9. and the original Final Fantasy Tactics as well. Those alone make a 1000 model worth having with it's wonderous OLED screen. Wild ARMs 1 and 2 also available as well as downloadable PS classics. Give Muramasa Rebirth and Dragon's Crown a look. As well, VanillaWare's premier RPG from the PS2 Odin Sphere is also getting remastered on it with new content. Everyone talks about the PS4 being the new original PlayStation for RPGs, but I believe it's the Vita that is the new true original PS. So many RPGs to choose from, new and old, it truly is the platform to play on. And now that Breath of Fire III PSP version is coming on Tuesday to North America, is another reason to own a Vita. I would not be surprised if Final Fantasy XII gets a remaster on PS4 as well as the Vita.. So many reasons to have one. A dead system? I don't think so.

@DarkmarkUnited: Don't do it! The PS Vita is utter crap. Save for a PS4 instead. PS4 is also future-proof with plenty of games to come, Vita is dead.

For people wanting a Vita but owns a PS4 I'd say don't bother unless you can't use your PS4 due to the TV being used. However if your travelling long distances it's a great little Console to play some decent AAA's along with all your indies and to catch up on great games that you have missed. I think it's great but for me personally I don't play it purely because I have my PS4 and I'll always choose that over the vita... I wouldn't say it's dead or crap just don't expect any more big games to come out for it! I don't even like JRPG's but there's still enough games to play and choose from when I actually pick it up.
