Hi! I just got a ps vita and i notice some games (like god eater for example) are franchises that started on psp, I'm into RPG ( and yes I've got persona 4 😂) I'd like to know good games that started on psp, since i like to follow them from the begging, do you guys know any good games that started on psp and are available on the store?
Or any good psp or psx games available that i missed? I'm currently playing ffviii, i never did finished it when i was a kid 😂

Loco Roco 1 and 2, Patapon 1 and 2, Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 1 and 2, God Of War's, Dante's Inferno are some of the good ones. In all honesty, there's a few on there that are really good, and as long as you have a decent amount on your memory card, you can find a bunch...just make sure you look at them first, but stick to the ones that you know first. I know this wasn't the biggest help, but there were many great titles on the PSP...shame the Vita didn't get more of the attention it deserved (and also sad that I ended up getting rid of the PSP, which I regret to this day...had many games on it too). Also, for the PSone era, get Grandia...very good RPG game that I wish the 2nd and 3rd would become available on the store front too.

Don't know about franchises that started on PSP but as the Vita has access to PS1 classics you've got access to every Final Fantasy from 1-10:2 as well as Persona 1-4. Persona 3 Portable is a psp game and in my opinion better than P4G- especially if you like a darker story.
There's also Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (PSP), which I've not played yet but everyone swears by (87 metacritic).

@Xaritah FF 8 is a beast of a game great choice.

Other old games I swear by are Ridge Racer Type 4 and Disgaea. I would buy Dariusburst chronicle saviours if it drops in price too.

@themcnoisy yeah I'm in disk 2 loving it all over again 😆 grandia seems a good game I've seen people saya lot of good thinks about that one trough the years, if it's available on psn I'll get it thanks! 😆

@Fight_Teza_Fight gonna try that tactics order after ff8, i caught my interest . I've been thinking of buying the persona's games to experience everything the franchise has to offer but i recently bought persona 1 and honestly i didn't like it very much 😨

@JLPick I've played the normal god of war games (1,2,3) do the ones on psp bring anything new to the story? my memory cards isn't that big only 8gb, I'm thinking of getting a bigger one from ebay along the line ( since i can order it from amazon UK they will just sell games internationally, acessories they don't, big bummer since i buy a lot of things from amazon)

@Xaritah Final Fantasy Tactics: War Of The Lions is well worth a purchase and Valkyria Chronicles 2 is pretty good.

They're both new stories that add to the events of the previous 2...but nothing in reference to part 3. If you have a PS3, they're also available on that as the Origins Collection. Both are really good and enjoyable!!!! I'd recommend them, as they were both great fun on the PSP when I had it!@Xaritah

@KratosMD ok gotta try them out eventually since i loved god of war story (I'm a use greek mythology fan 😂) if the games have a nice story I'm in thanks! 😆

@ApostateMage there is a valkyria 2??? I'm loving valkyria remastered on ps4! Gotta try the 2 after thanks! As for ff tactics I've never played a tactic's game before maybe I'll like it, its definitely different from what I've played 😊

@JLPick i don't have a ps3 😯 mine broke, it stoped turning on, i mean it does turn on but after 5 min it goes off, i think it overeats, but I'll play them on the vita, i actually prefer it since i can play it on my couch leave the TV on and "watch" a movie at the same time i play 😂

Glad to know that I wasn't the only one whose PS3 broke. I had a hard drive added in mine (2TB)...since the first year...lots of game downloads, tv episodes, movie downloads and even kept music and photos and even home videos on it...shame that it died, and would like to get another one eventually...as well as another hard drive...but too much on PS4 to have to sit and go through over 6000 items in my download section...too long to download, then update each game, and too long for the system to stay on. Really hoping the PS4 gets an update where you can download all of your bought TV Episodes and Movies from the store, onto the hard disc itself, and be able to watch them without having to always be connected to the internet...especially for someone like me that takes it on the go to hotels so the kids, wife and I have something to enjoy at nights!@Xaritah

@JLPick damn! You didn't had a ps3, you had a whole new world there! Such a shame 😢 yeah they gotta do some kind of update so that doesn't happen, i miss the good old days when u would buy a Cd of a game and you didin't had to update anything, you just had to insert the disk and let the system do the magic.... now it's uptade everything and download everything... 😡

Way too many updates...honestly, I just miss the Atari and NES era where you just put in a game cartridge and begin playing right away. Other than that, yeah, my wife and I played a lot of PS3...got rid of the Wii for more games and kept them coming...lots of money into the store and since we didn't have cable, we used it for TV Episodes and Movie Downloads a lot. There was a lot, but still...the 2TB didn't take long to fill up, so I guess that's why I wish Sony would release an update for the PS4 to let people download the movies and tv onto the system itself...like the PS3. However, it would have also been nice to make an update for the PS3 to allow external hard drives too...something that won't happen now, but would have been nice in the past to give more space, and probably wouldn't have killed the systems so fast too. As for the PS4 downloads, yup, we're already racking up the download side too, so I guess I became a bigger Sony fan and pushed nintendo away a little (even though I never honestly cared for the PS1 and liked the Gamecube more than the PS2...fell in love with PS3 and love the PS4 to death!)@Xaritah

@JLPick I know what you mean. I was a big fan of Nintendo, but being an 80's kid that's not unusual. I always had two systems but Nintendo was my main for awhile. In the 16 bit era it was Genesis and afterwards it was Nintendo and Sony. However with the Wii generation I had a Wii and an Xbox 360 which at that time the 360 was more my main console then the Wii. This gen My PS4 has become my main while my Wii U has become a dust collector and that's not a joke either. I think since owning it the last few months is the most I played it due to Zelda and I have had it since launch.

I might get a Switch but honestly I am in no hurry and to be honest it depends on what 3rd part games comes out. I won't lie having something like GTA or Fallout on the go is tempting.

But sadly as far as Nintendo goes for me, they just aren't the same anymore. I want to like them but I am just more satisfied with Sony's Playstation.

@Tasuki Same here, until the 360 I was Nintendo through and through. NES and SNES. I had both an N64 and PS1 (not from launch as I was a student and poor at the time but together) and the N64 got the most attention. Same with the GC over the PS2. However, when Nintendo went the Wii route, I was on my 360 constantly and only picked up the Wii for specific titles. I missed the Wii U but even now with the Switch, my PS4 is my main gaming device and will get the most of my time.

As much as Nintendo make great games, Sony is just catering to my tastes a little better. I am hoping that the Switch changes this a little so I can go from either but we'll see.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

Corpse Party. The Vita entry isn't great, but the first game on PSP is fantastic and is fully worth playing. I think it goes on sale pretty much every Halloween.

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is great as well. The base game is a modernized remake of Rondo of Blood, but you can also unlock playable versions of the original Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night.

Wow...you and I are almost the same. I was an 80's kid too, watching it go from vinyl to cassette then CD. Just like you, granted I was Atari first, I remember feeling the love for the NES, but then went to Sega Genesis due to Sonic (but my cousin, whom we visited once per month had the Super...which I still didn't really feel the love for it). It was then the N64 and Dreamcast for me, then the Gamecube (which is still my favorite nintendo system) and the PS2, with the X-box next. Further on, it was PS3 that I fell in love with over the Wii, which I grew old of rather quickly. The Wii U didn't stay long, collected too much dust and didn't really feel like it had the love that nintendo usually gives to their systems...and I'm still pondering the Switch granted that Mario Odyssey looks pretty fun...a lot like Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast. As for now, the love is with the PS4, and I'm not sure if it's because I feel like it's like an NES (with the amount of games and genres coming out with the 8-bit to 16-bit graphics) or if it's something else, but I'm going for the first. Now, with most of my childhood games coming out on it or returning, the love is even greater for it, and it definitely is a powerhouse system, no matter what others may say! I even love it more than my PS3, which sadly took a turn for the worst. Switch just needs to get the games out first and not just the games that nintendo makes...so far, I only see Zelda, Mario Kart and Bomberman and later on Mario Odyssey, with no look at Splatoon 2 which still doesn't look that fun to me. Hopefully E3 shows a little more for it, but I'm more thrilled in Sony's E3, especially with so much that it could announce...another Disney Afternoon collection from the 16-bit era would be nice...Aladdin, Lion King, Goof Troop and more, but I'd also like to see the Sony classics relive their lives again, great for Loco Roco to come back...own it and playing it, but it would be nice for some of the other classics from the 8-bit on up to return.@Tasuki

@JLPick Well I doubt they will release a Disney Afternoon Collection 2 since those games are done by different companies. Aladdin (SNES) was Capcom but Lion King was Virgin. Not sure about Goof Troop though. But I get what you're saying.

I don't know what it is about Nintendo though. I can go back and play games like SMB3 and Mega Man 2 over and over and beat them over and over again but then Super Mario 3D World I barely got half way through before I got bored of it. Same with New Super Mario U. Not sure what it is but Nintendo just isn't doing it for me any more.

Age, or it's the fact that they lost their love. I honestly loved Super Mario 3D World and Land for the 3DS and Wii U. Not enough as much as I can play Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World over and over again. Mario Odyssey looks good, but I'm still not sure. NES was great, super NES wasn't that great to me, N64 was good for it's time, Gamecube is still great to me, Wii got boring fast and Wii U was just...in my opinion...their worst system and games for it...seemed rushed games took a toll for that one. 3DS and DS didn't even seem as great as the original Gameboy titles...just seemed like they lost their appeal of making fun and energetic games and are just doing the same thing over and over again instead of great titles that they used to make. I'll say from the Gamecube on down, they were fabulous, but recently, I'm thinking they need new blood into their headquarters instead of the older ones that seem to not know what the generations want or need...plus, they don't care about 3rd party support, which isn't helping them. At least with Sony and even Microsoft, there's various genres of titles...even the kid-friendly titles. There is something about nintendo though, that if you get rid of their systems, for some reason you end up regretting it in the future, and I don't know why.@Tasuki

@toon_lonk1 Runs great. The biggest differences are that the DXC version has more content than the PS1 version, including an extra unlockable character that you can play as, an extra boss fight from the Saturn version of the game, and a re-translated script and dub that sticks closer to the Japanese original. The side effect of this is that the DXC version is missing the cheesy voice acting and iconic lines from the original localization of the game on the PS1.

@JLPick Agree on you about getting rid of their older systems. My GC broke about a year ago and I seriously want another one. Same thing happened when I traded in my N64 years ago as well.

As for the third party problem with Nintendo I think it's due to their past relationships with third parties that hurt them add to that the bazaar designs they go with for hardware choices, cartridges for N64, mini discs for GC, motion controls for Wii and the Gamepad for Wii U just don't make an inviting atmosphere for third party companies.
