Topic: Larger Vita memory cards...

I know this is a bit of a pointless topic, as I'm fairly confident of the answers anyway, but I figured I'd see all the same what people's thoughts are on the chances of Sony bringing out a higher capacity memory card (eg 128GB)?

Yes, I know it's probably not on the cards, given the poor Vita support so far and fairly terrible performance of the PS TV, but it would be really good if they could pull something together. Stick it at a sensible price point (and reduce the prices of the existing sizes) and it could even bring with it extra sales.

It's just something that occurred to me would be awesome to have. At the moment, I only have a 16GB card, which means lots of chopping and changing. I've added up that I currently have 72.5GB of games I own (EDIT: That isn't including any patches, some of which are pretty sizeable), plus at least another 30GB of games I really want to get that are currently out, along with quite a few more bits and pieces due out this year that I'm interested in. To be honest, at this rate even 128GB wouldn't really cover it!

I know it's easy enough to swap content once it's been backed up to a PC, but there's just something I really like about the idea of having it all in one place!

I dont suppose they will (bring larger memory cards out) but I think you raise an interesting point in terms of having all your content in one place. Seeing as I purchased my vita as part of a digital bundle I have owned more content than memory space ever since I got it, and have been thinking that whilst swapping content is fine today there may well come a point in the (hopefully distant) future when the content manager is no longer supported on PC's and/or vita games are no longer available on the store. I guess this applies to most devices on which you purchase digital content (not just vita) but it's worth thinking about I think!

I have a 32gb in my Vita TV and a 16gb in my Vita. Oddly enough, I think it helps me clear out my games a bit better. Because it's so limited, I often feel the need to finish a game so that I can replace it with another. The problem with the 16gb is that games like Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars, and Ragnarok aren't really "finished" and end up taking a ton of space.

I'd still get a 128gb for my Vita TV since swapping memory cards is a pain. Now that I have both a Vita TV and Vita, buying games digitally makes my SO much easier. I know that 32gb card is going to catch up soon....

Sony doesn't care about PS TV or Vita. I bought a 64GB last week, they didn't ever bother to release that outside Japan. I rest my case.

Fair point, but with Japan being pretty much the last place the Vita still does well, I just thought there may still be some hope that they might release a 128GB just with Japan exclusivity again. I guess it's all just wishful thinking, but I'm still hesitant to throw down £60 for a 64GB card, just in case they do suddenly announce it out of the blue!
