The Vita version wasn't a huge success and the remaster on PS4 just bombed. Without any proper marketing I cannot see this game do any bettet unfortunately. Let's hope on some good word of mouth and a moderate success, I'd love to see more entries in this franchise, because the lore has so much potential, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen.
@kyleforrester87:
We'll see what kind of advertising campaigns Horizon God of War and Days Gone get. I'm sure the first two will get decent marketing, Days Gone may not. Still it annoys me Sony doesn't even try with the niche games. Released the GR remaster in the US through Amazon only for a physical copy and didn't advertisr it. Hell Ratchet & Clank only sold becausr of word of mouth. I don't care if the game isn't a $50 mil blockbuster, Sony is publushing Gravity Rush 2, it looks great, show some damn pride, give the devs who are working hard some help and advertise it. But they won't and frankly it's wrong and absolutely pathetic. What's worse is some will defend Sony.
Hope they give the remaster as a PS+ game that'll be the best way to promote the sequel
The fact that I just bought that remaster, does increases the chances of it appearing in the IGC . That happened a lot the last twelve months.
Still I kind of doubt it, because the original game already appearead on PS Plus. Can't recall them releasing a game as well as its remaster on PS Plus before!
I liked the concept , and art direction but after the first couple of missions on the PS4, I was a little apathetic to the whole thing. It wasn't awful, but I equally wasn't drawn in by what I had done.
I still intend to finish it, and give it a full chance, but I've returned to online gaming after a long hiatus and Destiny with friends is just too much fun when the PS4 boots up.
Am interested in the sequel though as an extension of the idea. Assassin's Creed was almost a playable "proof of concept", and subsequently ACII was awesome.
Time to have a go at Sony again folks because Gravity Rush 2 has been delayed to Jan 20th, reason is due to the packed lineup of games around it's initial date. But as compensation the previously premium dlc will now be free.
@adf86: Because Q1 of 2017 isn't packed!? Oh well, I understand the competition from FFXV and TLG, still, that's one less game this year. And another game for 2017. There's at least 10 games I want to get in Q1 2017, don't know how I'm going to manage that. Meanwhile only TLG interests me for the rest of this year..
@Octane: Not in January I don't think. I'm glad they care enough about the game that they don't want to release alongside big titles and just letting die.
Just finished this game today! A week before servers were initially said to shutdown (and that's no coincidence). Despite all of the game's problems, I enjoyed it a lot. It's no Top 5 material, but it's a game I'll not forget anytime soon.
There are a lot of issues you could name about the game: camera, control, a lot of padding mission-wise and such. But a game is more than the sum of its pro's and cons. The charm of this game, its presentation, strong story themes, combined with that incredible feeling of flying (falling actually), outshine about every downside you could name about this game. Really happy I picked up this sequel, and an easy recommendation for everyone who enjoyed the first game.
You can also play this game for its soundtrack alone. The music is that good, just have a listen:
