I have seen on various sites that have sides saying a lot of negative things about Sony's handling of this system, but although we have heard one side of the story, they aren't eager to listen what the company has to say in regards to the gamers(the consumers) to actually let them know their frustrations and bitter patience when it indeed comes to the state that the Vita isin right now.
We not only need to be one sided with their opinion, but why this company feels like it is going direction it is for this handheld. Remember, there are two sides to every story, we cannot just listen to one and believe what they say all the time... :/
Because Sony would actually say the Vita is doing badly and really is in a sad state? They're frustrations are the efforts they've made haven't made then as much mone as they'd like, so they're supporting it as much as they could. It just is a negative situation.
I really wish people would give it a rest as to why Sony is treating the Vita they way they are. Quit trying to figure it out and enjoy the system. Quit worring about why they are doing what there doing. If you would stop worries about the stuff you can't control you will be alot happier in life.
There is nothing to figure out.......based on sales figures, Sony now see's it's portable line as a niche product........while the PS4 is selling like hotcakes, thus shift all first and second party support to the PS4, and support the Vita with indies and the odd port as long as remains a fixture in the Japanese market.
Honestly if you want to blame someone blame consumers. If the sale numbers were better for the Vita Sony would put more effort in it. Sony is a company their first goal make money. They are not going to spend resources on a product that doesn't make money. So if consumers would buy more Vita products well then Sony would be more then happy to put more into it.
All these Vita owners instead of crying and harassing Sony about why they treat the Vita the way they do should show their support for it buy buying games systems etc. That's how business works.

I understand and people will complain for the sake of making it a habit to make all these threats against Sony just because they feel like they are entitled to get more and they do not understand it is their fault, but when called out on it, they will not agree to that. That is where the problem lies with consumers being picky and Sony being stuck in a hole because of the feedback from many psp owners...
Inahime Honda fanatic!
According to moomoo, Vita and 3DS is the handheld master race! :-)
The vita should of been released today. It would fare better. It released in a window of tablets and uber phones - which is now starting to plateau and has hit saturation point. But it didn't - so it didn't sell. Its not cool to have a vita but it is cool to have a ps4 and tablet. That's it. Hopefully with Japan leading the charge the vita can become cool. Does it deserve it? Not with the nerfed screen and dodgy memory card prices but it could still be a success.

We really need to stop arguing about the Vita, it's like a never-ending conversation that seems to spawn a new thread every week or so.
This thread can stay open for now, but let's try to move things forward a bit without repeating ourselves.
Why don't you tell that to the people who bought a vita just to pretend to like it and bashing the Vita in a bias way.
I don't think anyone bought a Vita just to pretend to like it. I think some people bought it and loved it, and I think some people bought it and felt disappointed. You could say the same of any product that's ever been made.

Well there are PS Vita sites just dedicated to vita enthusiasts who love the system, however sites like thevitalounge.net have a small percentage of people who blame Sony for the vita instead of themselves...
Edit: Sorry I made a spawn of this topic, I can't help but feel sorry about the conflicting sides going against each other to argue what the Vita failed in and what didn't.
Sometimes great products don't catch on for a variety of reasons. Even if the Vita had hundreds of high-profile exclusive games with 90+ Metacritic scores, I don't think it would be doing that much better globally. The reality is that the mobile market exists on smartphones and tablets these days.
Nintendo has remained relevent because it has brands like Pokemon and Mario, which have made the 3DS success. But even its recent announcements show that the mobile space can't be ignored.
What I'm saying is: the market has changed. Sony could have done more with the Vita, for sure — but this is the age that we're living in.
The Vita its just like the WiiU worthwhile devices that just didnt catch up and whatever the company does right now it will not matter that much
Its all too late
If Sony will drop support for the vita, couldn't they at least announce it's discontinuation even if it kills them?
I imagine they'd announce it as they would with any other console. It's not going anywhere just yet, but give it a few years and Sony will likely just issue a press release stating that it's no longer supporting the platform.
