I think my top 10 would be:
1-Bloodborne
1-Dark Souls
3-Witcher 3
4-Fable 2
5-Batman: Arkham Asylum
6-Football Manager
7-Halo 2 (Just the campaign)
8-BioShock
9-Star Wars Battlefront 2
10-Danganronpa

To be honest outside of the joint number ones, those places don't matter much. Dark Souls and Bloodborne are easily my favourite games ever however, no question. Loved playing Halo 2's campaign back on the original xbox, didn't have an online connection (didn't even know about such things at the time!) but the story and gameplay made me replay it endlessly. Fable 2 was possible the first great RPG that I played and cemented the genre as my favourite. Shox is an obscure rally game that came with my ps2, my first ever console so I've great memories playing that with my best mate when we were young. As someone mentioned earlier, the Galactic Conquest mode in SW:BF 2 was superb, played it endlessly for a time. I've played several iterations of Football Manager/Championship Manager over the years so I've lumped them under one title.
Honourable mentions go to: Bioshock Infinite, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Pokemon Yellow and Silver, Fifa 2000, 2002 and 2003, Battlefield 4, Two Worlds (My first fantasy RPG as I recall, critics slammed the game I've since discovered but to me it was the peak of gaming (I didn't have much to compare it too ) it was everything I really wanted in a game; fantasy setting, big open world to explore, places to discover, quests to complete, it started my love of RPGs

Edit: Threw out Shox in favour of Danganronpa 1, can't believe that game slipped my mind when writing this list, amazing game!

It's very difficult to write it down because, in my case, the first 4 might switch positions depending on my mood but, anyway, this is my top 5:

#1 Donkey Kong Country 2 - soundtrack, visuals, gameplay
#2 Super Mario World - visuals, soundtrack, gameplay
#3 Ocarina of Time - story, soundtrack, gameplay
#4 Majora's Mask - side quests, gameplay, soundtrack
#5 Resident Evil Remake (HD) - atmosphere, visuals

I could easily add Project Zero 2 Wii Edition, Wave Race Blue Storm, Banjo-Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Goldeneye 007, Super Mario Kart and a lot more.

Yes, this is the first generation I get a PS and an Xbox so I'm a newbie here and at Xbox forums, although I have played PS and Xbox at friends'.

I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!

@get2sammyb: Oh, Journey! Forgot about that one as well. So many great games, top 10 lists are definitely impossible.

@Utena-mobile: I started playing Gravity Rush Remastered today, it looks great! Really enjoying it so far. I love the open world structure.

@Hego: Thank you. My first PS games are Metal Gear Solid V, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition and The Last of Us Remastered. My wanted PS4 games are Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection, Street Fighter V, Final Fantasy VII Remake (I played the PC version) and, hopefully, Resident Evil 2 Remake!!

It's a tough one but my top 10 currently would probably be (in no specific order):

  • The Last Of Us
  • Final Fantasy XII
  • Okami
  • Uncharted 3
  • Monster Hunter (the first one on the PS2)
  • Valkyria Chronicles
  • Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
  • Persona 3 FES
  • Vanquish
  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

For me, there are a few other games that could easily replace some of the games on that list like Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Ni no Kuni, LittleBIGPlanet 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2 and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Huntin' monsters erryday.

BAMozzy

@VanillaLake: Infamous: Second Son is a good PS4 exclusive too and worth checking out. Alien: Isolation is another game I would recommend if you like Horror games and so is the Evil Within - based on you wanting RE2.

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

@BAMozzy: Thank you, but first I have to finish all of my current games!

8) Counter-Strike (1.3 > Source)
9) Ultima Online
10) Dead Space 2

@BodyW-outOrgans: 7. F-Zero (Snes)

I found GX on the GameCube was the best of the bunch - the one by amusement vision.

9. Final Fight (Snes)

Great game - but only 1 player so streets of rage 2 was always the better game.

@kyleforrester87: @Wesker: @BAMozzy: I just got Resident Evil Origins Collection (I played the originals on GameCube). I would recommend the new HD editions to everybody. I didn't buy them digitally so I got the physical collection now.

Yeah I've got both digitally, playing 0 right now. The prerendered backgrounds are amazing. Gotta say I prefer the ps1 version of 1, somehow

Ugh, that a hard list.... should think about it more probably, but off the cuff:

(I dare not try to order them, so in random order)

Super Mario Bros - Hours and Hours and Hours back in the day.
Dark Age of Camelot - in the end it was better than WoW, if shorter lived...
Dark Souls 2/Bloodborne - basically the same game with different skin.
FFX - first fully voiced game I can think of, really liked it.
Arkham series - really good mix of story and gameplay without sacrificing either.
XCOM - Turn based alien shooting strategy, with larger scale strategy outside of the battles!
Lego indiana jones (When it was new and not tired)
Metal Gear Solid - (again when it was new and not tired)
Borderlands 2 (because it doesn't take itself seriously but is still awesome gameplay)
Space Quest - Sudden Decompression Sucks
Little Big Planet

@Mega-Gazz: in terms of fully voiced games there was plenty before (as you are no doubt aware but it can be tough to think of them!) but the earliest best fully voiced game that comes to my mind is always mgs1!

I know MGS 1 had some voice (remove the controller now!), but I didn't think it was fully voiced... for some reason I remember being excited that FFX had full voice.... to the googlemobile!
