@KALofKRYPTON Have you not played Superman on Atari 2600? No need for a new game😉.
As long as we are dreaming, what about Marvel vs DC? Fighting game could work with DLC making one side/character stronger then the other so fan boys dont get mad that one side seems better. They can just buy there side to greatness.
@Elodin a Marvel vs DC game would be great plus if the story was the Marvel and DC Villains joining forces and the Heroes banding together to fight them then the fanboys still can't complain

@RogerRoger Yep, the protagonist's sexuality would be incidental rather than the single thing that defines him. There would be story elements certainly, but it's just part of the whole. You quite succinctly summed up my idea with the L.A. Noire-cum-Yakuza mixed with a nice slosh of Twin Peaks! There'd definitely have to be a character like Catherine Martell.
I don't think most people would really care if Nathan Drake had happened to fall for a guy instead of Elena. Nice to think that it wouldn't make a difference to the series success though.
Ooh, it'd be great to play a Mass Effecty space RPG that gives much more freedom and has proper narrative branches. The choices given in games are so arbitrary and the plot doesn't really change. I like the idea of the crew (are they human, because it could play into humanities worst tendencies) either improving or destroying the people they meet.
@FullbringIchigo Actually I'm genuinely surprised they haven't done a warriors type game for Final Fantasy. It could be pretty great!

@KALofKRYPTON I always loved the idea of Metropolis having a health bar instead of Superman (as seen in the Superman Returns game on PS2). I think it'd need a little polishing if it were to ever be used again, but the concept was sound. Quite often, the biggest struggles for the Man of Steel don't come from kryptonite-powered robots or intergalactic metahumans, but from simply the realities of having to try and be everywhere at once. Reflecting that in a game would be quite an achievement and would make for some decent character moments, too.
Speaking of which, remember when I gave you a heads-up to that online soundtrack store, LaLaLand Records, and their expanded release of the Superman Returns score? I've just seen that one of their new releases is a 3-CD album of the full, remastered scores of Superman II and Superman III (and it also contains some source recordings and other interesting bits and pieces from the first film).
Just thought I'd let you know, especially since 'tis the season for wish lists!

@RogerRoger oooooh... Geogio Moroder scored the non-Williams parts of the Superman 3 score. That could be interesting! Thanks.
As for a Superman game, the city health bar thing is too much of a trapping gameplay loop, certainly to be used alone.
Superman isn't invulnerable, so I'd like to see a game actually scale with that. Fetch quests and fighting fires (literally) make for a pretty terrible game.
Man of Steel for the OG XBOX was actually OK, in a lot of ways - but not in plenty of others.

With Dreams coming next year, and the beta later this year, I've gone back to some of my own game ideas. I did mess around with GameMaker back in the day. My friends and I even had a little website where we'd host the games we made. Never made it beyond terrible 2D games though.
Anyway, I'm thinking of a sci-fi space shooter with set piece boss fights. Like Metroid, or Zelda, or Shadow of the Colossus. Just the things I'm looking for in video games, and the themes I like. It has to be Metroidvania in order to work well in Dreams I think. So I've been drawing out maps, enemy design, level hazards, just to get a head start for when the beta comes out. We should definitely get a Dreams Ideas/Concepts/Tutorial/Screenshot Thread up and running when that game comes out!
@Ralizah I've been looking at gameply of the new Let's Go games, and regardless of the direction of the games, they just look so static and sterile. It literally looks like a 3DS game in HD. I hope next year's is more like Breath of the Wild in terms of visuals and whatnot. You know, alive, with characters walking around and minding their own business instead of standing idle staring into the void. It just looks incredibly dated for a big budget game in 2018. And they're selling two €60 versions, so I feel that we're allowed to expect some effort put into them.
A free to play survival game where the objective would be to co-operate with other players to create a sustainable living situation in a harsh environment. The stand out feature would that it would feature permadeath. In that once your character perishes, there is no option to start again. The game is blocked to your console. Controversial, but being free to play should stop it hurting too much. The only thing I can't work out is how the devs would get income. Perhaps once communities are established MT's could be used to upgrade defences and equipment, or a one off kickstarter or something.
Or actually, we could just make our own... "Duel Mountains, starring NSA Agent Cale Dooper, Branch Man and crows which are exactly what they seem (so, just crows, then). Venture into the twisted Blue Room and answer the mysteries of the Red Rose, but remember to regularly refuel with tea from the Single S Diner."
See? No copyright infringement whatsoever.

@Octane Good luck with the project. I will make the music if you want?

@themcnoisy Would be great if we all collaborated on a project, don't you think? PushSquare GOTY in the making. I'm certain I'm terrible at making anything music related lol.
I'm definitely wondering if I can even create the ideas I have in Dreams. I'm familiar with some basic level programming, but I'm definitely not an expert programmer!
@themcnoisy I tried that life game as well. Still haven't got any trophies and have a feeling it didn't ship with a plat. Kind of a make your own fun style of game, but excellent graphics.
