Topic: What if Sonic Team made Sonic games like Sonic 06 going forward, but it gets worse?

Ya'll think the sonic fanbase is bad now, but I can already imagining it being TEN TIMES WORST then what it is now. What are your guy's thoughts?
P.S: Not throwing shade around the series, this is just a what if scenario.

I tried Sonic 2006 (I don't remember if it was Playstation or Xbox version) and tried Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 on Gamecube. Sonic Adventure IS Sonic 2006 but worse, if you ask me. There already are more than enough "worse" (the word bad is not bad enough unfortunately) Sonic games out there. It would be better to imagine good ones, we would really need some more of them. Thank heavens both on PS4 and on Switch we will see Sonic 1 (the best of them all still today) soon. I will buy it both on Switch and in the Megadrive collection for the PS4.

All Sonic needs to do to make the perfect game is have the Sonic Mania gameplay but with a zoom in and out option so you can see different paths and secrets etc.

@KratosMD Too ambitious, that’s asking a lot of Sega for a Sonic game.

Hey, I really like Sonic '06.

I tend to steer clear of specific fanbases. Taking part in a PlayStation community like Push Square is one thing; Sony's consoles play all sorts of different games, and I don't have to post in the FIFA or GTA threads. Everything gets far, far more, um... let's say "intense"... when you're focused on one specific type of thing (film, television show, game, etc.) and having been a member of a Sonic forum many, many years ago, I can safely say that it's an experience I wouldn't care to repeat.

Because of that policy, whatever Sonic Team make next can be as brilliant or as awful as it wants to be; I'll make my own mind up about it (especially since my own mind always seems to be out-of-sync with the majority, aforementioned love of Sonic '06 held up as Exhibit A... and me preferring Sonic Forces over Sonic Mania being Exhibit B, I guess).

@RogerRoger But but it’s impossible to like Sonic 06, how could someone like such an objectively awful game. It’s broken with disturbing story elements between Woman and hedgehog. You must have terrible wrong viewpoints. He’s not a real Sonic fan, must’ve never played the classics.
Did I fill for for the fanebase? (some people are painful)

I want a game where you play as Eggman, riding around in all of his glorious machines. You'd be attempting to kill Sonic in every level, I feel this game would please both Sonic fans and non-Sonic fans

@Gremio108 Reminds me of the boss battle I actually liked from Sonic Mania, where you jump into one of Eggman's classic machines and bomb him as he swims around beneath you. It was a very nice role reversal and I'd sure as heck play more!

I think at this point people would be more surprised if they made a good Sonic game.
