It's a really somber day for anyone who appreciates science as Stephen Hawking has passed away at the age of 76. Here's a link to the news: https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/14/health/stephen-hawking-dead/in...

Stephen Hawking will be forever immortalized in the re-runs of The Big Bang Theory. I wish his family, friends, and colleagues the best and give them my condolences.

What's amazing is when he was first diagnosed he was only given 2 years to live, and that was in 1963.

To be honest, I thought he already was dead. Still sad to see. I'm not a science whiz, but he was a cut above.

Yeah sad day. A shining light amongst the blackness of ignorance.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

I remember when hosted the opening ceremony of the paraolmpyic games in London, I was thinking "his body is just a shell now but his mind is still as razor-sharp as anyone else's.

Woke up to the news and it really upset me for a while, before I had the realisation that despite all his personal struggles, Stephen Hawking really did make this world a better, more informed and more hopeful place, and he seemingly did it on borrowed time. It's incredible that he lived as long and as full a life as he did, and made such a huge impact on so many things. He was the ultimate definition of mind over matter.

My favourite story about him is from when he appeared on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He filmed a brilliant scene playing poker with Data, Sir Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein ("Not the apple story again!") but afterwards he toured the sets with some of the cast and is reported to have stopped in front of the warp core in main engineering. He looked up at it, paused, and then said to nobody in particular, "I'm working on that."

Yeah, sad news this. We need him more than ever right now.

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
