@Speedy67: some good choices of band you've got there! Love Mars Volta/At The Drive In, FNM etc etc. As for DJ Format, Statement of Intent is awesome; have you heard his Psych Out compilation? Well worth a go.

As is the case with most people, my tastes vary wildly. Currently enjoying Mitski, Perfume Genius, MF Doom, Dirty Projectors, Why?, Kiasmos, Julia Holter... I could go on.

@Mergatro1d: Cool we share some tastes! Mars Volta is my joint favourite band with Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Relationship of Command is incredible by At the Drive In. I've only been getting into Faith No More recently though to be honest. I love The Real Thing, at least. DJ Format are real cool, but again I've only recently got into them. I'll try out that Psych Out thing at some point.

@Speedy67: mate you must check out Mr Bungle if you like the chillies and FNM. They were mike patton's band pre FNM. Also check out other patton projects- the man's a genius. Tomahawk, Fantomas, peeping tom and loads more. Happy listening!

@TripleGK: I'm one of those weirdos that likes bits of everything. I like pop, electro, folk, hardcore punk, jazz, good old fashioned Norwegian black metal, noise, whatever. I have all kinds of different playlists set-up on Spotify and I just keep making more.

Currently I'm listening to a lot of shoegaze. Mostly early '90s stuff but some modern bands too.

@johncalmc: I listen to alot of different music so you're part of the club. I usually just have loads of different music on my itunes or on spotify, like any music recommendations I'd go I'll check it out even if its not a genre I don't listen to.

At the moment for me im getting through more hip hop with Ty Dolla $ign, Future, YG, Migos, Chance the Rapper mixed in with a bit of K-Pop as one of my favorite groups is dropping an album next week.

@TripleGK: In terms of K-Pop, for the past couple of years I mostly only listen to BIGBANG. There are way too many boy and girl bands in the K-Pop music industry nowadays. On top of that, the majority of them lip-sync during their live performances on the weekly music programs and that bugs the hell out of me.:/

Atm, I'm trying to see if one of the local music stores here can import Utada Hikaru's latest album for me.

@WanderingBullet: I can give you a few to listen to, my taste isn't completely up to date as there's so many groups out there but there's a select few that I will listen to still. BIGBANG are still my favorite K-Pop group to this day, they got me into the genre.

I would have no chance of getting albums imported at my local music store, I'd need to go to a place that specializes in that sort of music.

That's cool. Did they performed any concerts in the UK during any of their past world tours? I'd actually introduced BIGBANG to one of my PSN friends a few years ago. She liked their songs so much so that she actually went to one of their concerts (Alive Tour if I'm not mistaken) when they were in the US.

I mainly am still listening to J-Pop songs but mostly singers from the 80's and 90s whenever they have new single or albums out.

Can anyone tell me the name of the popular Spanish (I bloody hope it is) tune that's played a bit at the moment? I tried to sing it to Shazam; ended badly.

@WanderingBullet: The last world tour they did they didn't so when they do another one in the future going to try and go to one probably in America.

I switch between listening to music from 80's and early 90's to this year, quite cool to see how certain genres have changed over time.

@TripleGK: Any reason for picking US? I suppose if you were to choose an Asian country it would be cheaper for you.

There must be some metal/rock fans here right? If so Giraffe Tongue Orchestra mixes Alice In Chains, Mastodon, Mars Volta and Dillinger Escape Plan and one of its singles is awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtJbgV3pGkI

Hey all, bringing you the idea I posted on a separate thread https://goo.gl/WDj60j, I have read about your passion for music and I know that lots of people like to curate their own playlists, and some are themed, some are not, but all of them have something very personal, stories, phases, whatever it may be - music tells stories that sometimes words and pictures can't.

I would like to propose we exchange those, and the story surrounding them. Curious to see what you guys are listening to.

Also, the Spotify playlist subreddit got that amazing summarize tool that looks up your playlist suggests bands within the same genre and defines which are the most common genres within the playlist. Pretty neat, did not know that!

Anyone else heard the new Korn album? This thread needs some attention one way or another...

If I could recommend one artist I've always liked, it'd be Proem. Maybe give some of his stuff a listen if you have time. It's not exclusively what I'm into by any means but it's up there with Boards of Canada as my favorite electronic music.

Few tracks:

And a cool mix if you like:

Would kill to see this guy live.

I used to dj a lot when I was a bit younger so my taste is quite eclectic. I started out spinning Reggae, Dub and Jungle/D'n'B with the occasional funk and hip-hop crossovers.
In time I became more involved in electronics and the Belgian underground clubbing scene (think Acid/ Techno / Tech-house / Rave / Breaks / Psychedelic Trance). I still have my vinyl collection and it's one of my most valuable possessions.

Today I'm into all kinds of music and when I really like something I try to get it on wax. I'll throw in two tracks I deeply love.

Bonobo - Kong

Flying Lotus - Zodiac ****

@kyleforrester87 Boards Of Canada forever! I like what I hear from Proem so I will check some other releases.
