Topic: the collectors editions and items thread

this thread is to share collectors editions and items everybody bought or pre-ordered.
I wanted to make this thread because I'm a collector myself and I was curious about other pushsquare users.

at the moment I have 1 collectors edition pre-ordered and 1 collectors item, and I'm planning to pre-order another items soon.

first of all the DOOM collectors edition for PS4

the second one is a bishoujo statue of spider-gwen

and last but not least the one I'm planning to pre-order, a bishoujo statue of sniper wolf

so if you feel like then share your pictures of your collectors edition and items you have pre-ordered or already have bought.

I have bought quite a few 'collectors/special editions' of game. Since and including CoD4, only 2 (MW2, Black Ops) are not Hardened or Prestige editions. I also have the Lunchbox and Bobblehead Fall out 3 edition, the Safety Deposit Box, Bag etc version of GTAiv, Destiny Ltd Edition, Saints Row 2 'gun' edition, Forza 4 ltd Edition with keyring and USB, Halo MCC: collectors edition, and a number of Steelbook editions too - You don't get all that by buying Digital!

I love Shunya Yamashita's art - I have one of his art books but never bought any of the Kotobukiya Bishoujo statues he designed. Didn't know there was a Spider-Gwen to begin with but I quite like that statue.

In terms of games - I've only got the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, LittleBIGPlanet 2, Uncharted 3 Collector's Editions and the Soul Sacrifice Premium Edition PS VITA. Was gonna get the Street Fighter V CE but decided to go for the standard edition instead last minute. Those are the only ones that I can think of for now…

@darkswabber Do you collect a lot of Kotobukiya Bishoujo statues? I think the Huntress, Jaina Solo, Black Widow, Commander Shepard and Chun Li statues are very nice, just to name a few.

@WanderingBullet: I wanted to collect all of them but don't have the money, I buy about 2 to 3 a year and currently have elektra, harley quinn, starfire, poison ivy, binary miss marvel and gender bend jason vorhees.

@darkswabber: Nice collection you have there. My favorite would probably the Elektra one.

Oh, yeah. I also have the Capcom Creators Model Lagiacrus Action Figure.

The only collectors edition I have bought this gen is The Uncharted 4 one that irken posted.

@darkswabber: Oh, I missed out on that The Last Of Us CE. I only found out about it a day after it was announced and by that time it had already been fully pre-ordered on Amazon. :/

Nice to see some anime related figures like DeathNote as well. Which anime is that female character on the last image from? She looks familiar.

@irken004 @splat: I pre-ordered the UC4 CE as well but I'll be waiting for an unboxing video before deciding on whether I actually want it or not.

@WanderingBullet: I dind't buy the CE, I bought it in a gamestop as a seperate thing when I was on vacation in Italy .
I don't know from wich anime she is, my parents liked that one and bought it as a gift for me a few years ago.

@darkswabber: Lucky, I think the TLOU statue is quite nice.

I could be wrong but I think she's from Ikkitousen.

I am sometimes tempted to buy collectors editions but then I would have to keep the box perfect and avoid dropping or damaging it. Just one example lately of why I should not own so many breakable things. I managed to knock my Buddha statue off my shelf it fell on my weights and the head broke off. Its a bad omen.

Not really a collectors item which is game related but I really wanted the samurai darth vader it looks amazing.

i have 2 criteria's for getting collectors editions

1: Do i have the funds
2: Do i think what you get with the edition is worth the price ?

if both of these are met then i buy them, if not then i don't

I've never bought a collector's edition of a game, but I've gotten some of the exclusive Club Nintendo rewards back when that was a thing (if that counts):

• A Mario folding fan
• A Blooper folding fan
• Mario playing cards (Platinum reward)
• Mario pin set (Platinum reward)
• 2014 Nintendo desk calendar (Gold reward)
• OoT3D soundtrack CD (oh hey, this one was a pre-order bonus, though through CN)

The other things I got through it were more of a practical narure (game card case, DS carrying pouch).

The only collectors edition games I bought were Cataclysm, and Mist of Pandaria expansions for World of Warcraft. They came with the game (of course) a mouse pad, an art book a soundtrack and some in game goodies for WoW, Starcraft and later on Diablo 3.

The only console special edition I bought was Street Fighter X Tekken and that was cause it was on sale. It came with some in game goodies and a plastic bank that is in the shape of an arcade cabinet.

I've bought a few collectors editions.

To be fair what @dryrain: Says is spot on. I use the downloadable stuff and the gimmicks are crap. The main box is usually cardboard or the strap is so looks battered pretty quickly. The resale value is terrible too. Halo Reach was so full of useless rubbish like badges for a coat.

The best special edition I ever bought was a Star Wars game. I got a black what looks like a canister but it opens up across like a briefcase. I still use it to this day and got a mini Darth Vader helmet piggy bank. Cant recall what game it was but it was on either the gc or original xbox.
