@KALofKRYPTON while i'm glad he has gone you have to wonder how this will impact future Star Trek shows

but maybe now they will have someone in the big chair who actually knows what they are bloody doing

@FullbringIchigo Who knows, but if nothing else they've shown that Star Trek on television continues to be viable and worth investing in. We all know I've several opinions on Discovery, but there's no denying the quality of the production and engagement of a new and returning audience.

@FullbringIchigo Thanks for the tag! I'd be slightly more concerned if there hadn't been some solid foundation-building going on of late. Now we have incredible writers (one of whom on the Picard project, Michael Chabon, has the blessing of Rick Berman) and a pretty well-structured production team behind all the various projects, so I'm okay with things moving ahead as they are for now.

I remain hopeful for unity, but it'll have to be carefully done. Somebody needs to co-ordinate the brand properly on all fronts. A messy merge is the last thing Star Trek needs.

Also, no franchise is more important than bringing sexual assault perpetrators to justice.

@KALofKRYPTON I approve of that artwork on many levels!

@FullbringIchigo Dang. Also, OK.

Though I'd rather omnipresent holo-projected Data than straight up Captain Data....

@FullbringIchigo Interesting, although I'm sorry to say that I always assumed Star Trek Online would get overwritten by any show or film that needed to be set within the time period. We're a long way off from full integration of gaming alongside the more mainstream forms of visual entertainment, alas, and no writer wants to have their hands tied. A shame, but there we are.

Although did Star Trek Online ever specifically say what Picard was up to? He's never been in the game, as far as I know.

@RogerRoger according to STO he retired in 2404 and had a son with Beverly Picard (nee Crusher) called René Jacques Robert François Picard

@KALofKRYPTON you know i always thought that was kind of strange when i read that one

@FullbringIchigo Well, as long as the ending of the new series isn't Picard dying, Crusher dying, or them both dying, I reckon it'd still be okay!

@KALofKRYPTON I'd love for Data to be the ship's computer voice, disembodied. That might be how they get around Brent Spiner having so obviously aged (although I don't mind the age thing, since my favourite episode of all time probably remains "These Are The Voyages..." [ENT] in which no amount of squinting and soft lighting helps).

@FullbringIchigo What's strange about LaForge commanding a ship entirely populated by holo-Datas?

@RogerRoger they might let Picard die in the series ending but i think it will be a natural death and depending on the style of the show it could be a perfect way to close it out

@KALofKRYPTON well lets be honest here it's strange to see 10 Data's running around

The slash fans would be happy, at any rate.

@RogerRoger true but then again just them being in the same room is enough to get them going
