Hi,

Can anyone recommend a black magic specialist for like every country in the world please? I know it's a long shot but I just thought I'd ask.

@Octane Wow thanks, who'd have thought I'd get such a comprehensive answer to such a niche enquiry on a Playstation website?

I'm still in favour of adding a 24-hour waiting limit on creating new threads for new users. That should also prevent the billion "looking fur minecraft frends, plz add me!!!" threads we get on NLife every day. Create a special "[insert console] help thread" for new users who are looking for a solution to an issue with their console, and that should cover 99% of the other threads where new users are looking for a quick answer.

@Octane The solution for Push Square is quite simple. Just put a Captcha thing in when creating a new topic. It's such an elegant solution.

You could even have that captcha be removed for users with a post count above 100 or something.

But it might be hard to implement @antdickens ?

Just cap the number of threads a user can make to 1-3 per day. No need to restrict new users for 24 hours. Who's making more than 1 thread per day anyway? Who's making more than 1 per month for that matter?

@Octane To be honest, The NL forums and the PS forums are not the same environment and I think that needs to be considered when taking any action. What works for NL may be unnecessarily stifling here.

@Kidfried Captcha won't help as it's human spammers, they only stop bots. We're already blocking a lot of spam attempts, each time someone manages to slip through we're adding to the spam filter and it's working. We just need to keep building up this list until they give up on it.

As for restricting the number of new threads, yes, that is something that I will implement as there is no reason to join a forum and suddenly create lots of threads.

@kyleforrester87 Fair. But both are also forums, so there's some overlap in what makes sense and what's logical. Like a 3 threads per day limit for example makes sense for both!
