Ever felt like you'd be willing to watch a foreign film but don't really know where to start? Trying to find one that's good and doesn't feel like you wasted time can be a daunting task to complete. So don't. Let me do it for you. Now, obviously, opinions are opinions and mine demand as much authority as President Drumpf, but I try to watch as many as I can and may be able to provide you with a few ideas on what to watch. That's the idea of this thread. Depending on whether people actually want it, I could give some advice on films to watch upon request (be it genre or country) or I could do a weekly recommendation thing. If you've already watched a few foreign films then do feel free to contribute as well.
My interest in world cinema stems from growing up in a variety of places, and having sampled bits of culture, I find it fascinating to be so engrossed in a film that I get to learn a little more about far flung places whilst living there, if only for a moment. The world seems that little bit bigger, all the more richer. You expose yourself to different types of humour, different myths, different traditions and yet, in all that get to see how very similar we all are. The world is a panoply of experience and I'd like to help show that. Plus, it might kick me into watching more films if people are requesting something. What do you all think? Want something to watch? Want to recommend something? Praise Batman?

Not sure if it's classed as a foreign film but I thought The Intouchables was really good. It's the first film I've ever watched with subtitles but thoroughly enjoyed it.

@mrobinson91: Haha I'd say its foreign. Great film and the soundtrack was sublime. Touching yet uplifting and funny. I'll listen/watch anything with Ludovico Einaudi in it. Good choice
