Copyright protects the owner of the 'property' - in this case the images. videos and/or music. Why should others make money off of those people. I people breach the copyright then they deserve the strike - simple as. At least they get 'strikes' as a warning to be more careful - it could be a lot worse...

No because everyone should come to pushsquare for their coverage The only people who I watch now are angry Joe, angry Nintendo nerd and some videos that link to posts on this website. I remember angry Joe (who I like) ranting about Capcom and copyright and to me he came across as arrogant on that video as he had lost revenue, but he still a good mouthpiece for gamers. But its their stuff so can pretty much police it on a COMMERCIAL site how they like.

I can see both sides of the argument, I got a copyright claim once for a The Crew beta video I uploaded. It was because it had licenced music in the background and I forgot to mute the music. Yes it's the publishers IP's but Youtubers always argue that their giving the games free publicity and copyright strikes deny YouTubers the ad revenue they rely on to pay the bills. I tend to look at it on a case by case basis.

I hate the idea of getting my pants sued off in court, but not every country follows this policy.

Whether its free publicity or not, if a company doesn't want that 'free publicity' as they never asked for it is still up to them. Music does seem to be much more stringent about this than gaming but it is also easier to copy songs for personal use (MP3 players etc) than it is to copy games and thus can take revenue from the artists.
